Arbeitsatmosphäre

Rating based on my personal view and impression. I am a seasoned professional, so I have seen some agencies from the inside.

This was once an inspiring work environment and in some corners you can still find that.

What's mainly left now are imho all the downsides of a big corporate without its benefits. Consistent restructurings incl layoffs, repetitive work, long hours, high work load, made up and unfair performance processes, unnecessary hierarchies, internal competition and heavy weight politics while pay and career growth are stagnating.

A good taste of that corporate atmosphere, are the half-automated answers by HR to negative feedback on this platform.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

There are still some brilliant colleagues and the mutual support was always exceptional during the beginning of my time there. But the truly talented colleagues are leaving steadily or have been burned out after years of "hustling". Moral got lower each quarter and the atmosphere is more and more compromised by (forced) competitiveness.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Offices, tech and equipment are great.

Gehalt/Benefits

Initial salaries & benefits match market standards. If you don't plan to stay longer, you will be fine.

Gleichberechtigung

Many great female leads left or were let go recently. Newly established management roles are heavily dominated by the same type of male..

Interessante Aufgaben

No matter your level or department, you will be stuck with repetitive projects and tasks. If you are good at what you are doing, you just get more of it. Your title might change, but your work won't ...at least if you aren't part of the core group of individuals (mostly Dutch or British) who are close to the founders/upper management.
If you have a strong work ethic and want to truly grow in your career you can build the same or even better experience at other agencies that are more professional and stable.
If you are really thinking about taking on a role in this agency, ask detailed questions about the clients and typical tasks you will be working on. The pace, the team size, the expectations and development opportunities. Listen very well to the answers you receive!

DEPT® People Team

Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and honest review.

The points you raised—from restructuring and workload to internal processes and culture—reflect challenges we’re actively working on. We’re aware of these areas, and they continue to be a priority as we strive for lasting improvements.

We also want to be transparent on one point: our responses to feedback—whether positive or critical—are not half-automated. They are written with care and meant sincerely. We believe honest dialogue is essential, even when it’s uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, we do not have immediate solutions for every problem or challenge we face. But we want to assure you that your feedback is not just acknowledged—it’s being taken seriously, examined thoughtfully, and will help guide us as we work to find better answers.

We’re also aware that when people—especially those in leadership positions—leave the company, this can amplify the feeling of change. That said, our commitment to diversity remains unwavering. We’re proud that, even through transformation, we continue to have strong women in key leadership roles and will keep working to foster an inclusive, representative culture.

If you feel there’s more that should be said or you’d be open to a direct conversation, we’d truly welcome the opportunity to listen further—and again, we really appreciate your feedback.
