If you are ambitious and motivated, don't do this to yourself.
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
If you want to give your minimum, leave at 17:00 (or no longer than 18:00), and have a decent salary, you are desired by DBG and will never be fired! Mediocre managers will be even happier because, in this way, you don't make them work more than needed.

Verbesserungsvorschläge
None, because they are not willing to take them if they are not forced to implement them either by politics or regulation.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
It depends on the team, but I would roughly say:
40% of the people are working at DBG because they know that no one else would hire them.
40% could probably be hired somewhere else, but they have become too lazy (or got children) or accommodated to even try it.
20% are cool people willing to learn and push for the company, but on the verge of depression (they will be, after all, not necessarily the ones receiving most of the recognition) and, if not falling into the second category of the 30%, are preparing to leave soon. Unfortunately, this is a minority.
Image
Good outwards, terrible inwards, embarrassing towards clients.
Work-Life-Balance
Maybe the reason why 80% of the people stay forever at the company.
It is almost impossible to see people working after 17:30/18:00. After 19:00, probably only Board members and high Directors.
In terms of work, everyone knows -or should know- that 50% of the company could be easily replaced by AI. A lot of artificial discussions, work simulations, or even worse, mere incompetence.
If you cannot deal with mediocrity, it is possible that you become so internally empty that you don't have any life to balance with work anymore, so no work-life balance in the end.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Good luck.
Gehalt/Benefits
Salaries start at 55.000€ (although I would not doubt that some colleagues are getting even less), and rarely surpass 80.000-90.000€. When people reach that higher amount, either they stop working or try to be the next Board Member (mostly without success).
Older people with older contracts are receiving more than 100k, but that is not the case nowadays.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
There cannot be environmental or social conscience because there is no conscience at all.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Of course, you can always meet people you value, but among colleagues: when not toxic, mostly superficial; when not superficial, mostly unexistent.
If you join, for sure you will see many colleagues at the Bistro talking among each other about deep topics such as how sunny it is, how sunny it is not, how sunny it could be, the place of the next holidays, how the salary could be better somewhere else, etc.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
There are not so many older colleagues. Most of them are quite depressed. Under this group, either they already know they cannot change anything and don't care about it, or they know they cannot change anything but do care about it. When they care, they get more stressed because they cannot change anything. Teufelkreis.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
One additional thing that everyone knows but not everyone says is that most of the managers in the company do not have absolutely any skill to be a manager. Most of them become managers because they have already been working a long time in the company and it would be a bit embarrassing for DBG to not give them a higher position once they realize they are incapable of leaving the company.
In general, they look like teenagers wanting to behave like grown-ups.
Those managers who are more experienced or who are willing to appear as more experienced, have come to learn that it is better to delegate everything to the subordinates, so that they can chill at the Bistro, "work" from home, or attend the several "appointments" they have arranged privately. In the end, they are just needed for the "important" stuff, or as DBG people like to say, "high-level" discussions.
Disclaimer: "High-level" means everything devoid of content, political (which is equal to meetings), and superficial.
Arbeitsbedingungen
Well, the building in Eschborn is nice, but I assume this is an accomplishment of the architect who devised it. In any case: it is in Eschborn, or "Eschboring", as London colleagues call it, a ghost town where many companies stay only to avoid paying more taxes in Frankfurt.
Kommunikation
Like every company dominated by politics, don't even try to be honest, even if your managers or, even worse, HR asks for it.
If you want to make a career inside of DBG, my take is: to be superficial, say things that people want to hear, and even better: say "yes" to everything your managers say. In this way, you will always stay close to power, recognition, and promotions.
Gleichberechtigung
According to the former CEO of Deutsche Börse: "You need to hire two Indian people to get one to work". Search for the video "Deutschland verbrennt seine alten Industrien mit Prof. Sinn", minute 01:33:06.
Was something done at Deutsche Börse against this declaration, or was something that was commented on one of those coffees where one talks about the importance of sunny days? Not at all.
About the equality of men and women, check the Management Board of DBG, or of the other internal companies such as Eurex. They are including some women for the sake of diversity, but is this really wanted by them?
Other than that, you will see some students or interns wearing rainbow necklaces given by HR, and of course, HR will be talking about the importance of diversity, but no one dares to say openly they are gay. Of course, you don't need to say you are homosexual, but in that line, you would also not need to say you are heterosexual. However, 90% of the chit-chat you hear from your colleagues is about their plans for the weekend with their heterosexual couples.
LGBT+ people: well, judging by the last paragraph, you can have an idea.
In summary: they don't care.
Interessante Aufgaben
If you are under one of those managers who would never be hired in any other company: good luck. You will learn alone.
