Growing Disconnect Between Leadership and Employee Reality
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
The positive aspects are mainly the acceptable work-life balance, decent offices. In smaller project setups, teamwork can still function.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
What I find most negative is the lack of team spirit, weak leadership visibility, poor communication across the organization, limited career growth and the male-dominated leadership culture. The disconnect between stated values and actual behavior is especially disappointing...
Verbesserungsvorschläge
The company should take employee feedback much more seriously! It would already be a big step forward if reviews like these, as well as the results of internal surveys, were genuinely taken to heart instead of being dismissed or brushed aside by a single generic statement from the CEO. Employees notice when concerns are acknowledged only superficially, without any real consequences or visible change!
Beyond that, the company needs more visible, honest and empathetic leadership. Communication should become far more transparent and reliable, and management should actively respond to concerns instead of ignoring the overall mood or making the situation worse. The company should also invest more in career development, create fairer promotion opportunities, improve diversity in leadership, and bring more transparency to salary growth and project allocation.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
The working atmosphere has become increasingly difficult and, in my view, no longer feels healthy or sustainable. There is hardly any real team spirit left. The general mood is tense, and instead of improving, the situation seems to be getting worse.
Image
The company’s image is average. It is neither particularly strong nor particularly poor, but it does not stand out in a positive way either.
Work-Life-Balance
Work-life balance is one of the more positive aspects. In general, the job can be combined well with private life, which is something I appreciate.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Career development is currently very weak. Training opportunities are limited, and there is little real support for growth and advancement. Employees do not seem to be actively encouraged or developed.
Gehalt/Benefits
Salary and benefits are okish overall. However, there have been no meaningful salary adjustments or salary discussions for a long time. These topics are often blocked with the explanation that the company is currently going through difficult times.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
I have not noticed any major negative points in this area. From my perspective, this aspect is acceptable.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Overall, team spirit is no longer strong. In a few individual projects, collaboration still works well, but across the company there is no strong sense of unity anymore. This makes working together much more difficult than it should be.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
I have not personally noticed any negative behavior toward older colleagues.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
In my own experience, I have not had major negative issues with supervisors. My interactions have been respectful. However, I have heard very concerning experiences from other colleagues, which I found quite shocking. This shows that leadership quality may depend heavily on the individual manager....The leadership culture is weak. Management communicates certain values, but does not seem to live by them in practice. Instead of responding to the mood in the company and helping to calm difficult situations, leadership often seems disconnected and sometimes even makes things worse. There is also a strong “bro-business” culture, which is very noticeable and negative.
Arbeitsbedingungen
The working conditions are generally okay. The offices are nice, and some locations, especially Hamburg, are very attractive and pleasant to work in.
Kommunikation
Communication works reasonably well on an individual level in some cases. There are maybe one or two partners who communicate openly and reliably. However, a large part of the organization feels absent, unreachable, or completely disengaged. Management is also rarely visible and does not communicate enough.
Gleichberechtigung
Diversity and equal opportunity are clearly weak points. If you look at management, there may be one visible female figure (CEO), but most decision-making roles are occupied by men. In Strategy, there is not a single woman in a leadership role. It also seems that men still have a clear advantage when it comes to promotions.
Interessante Aufgaben
The company appears to depend heavily on automotive and VW-related projects. Other projects take time to develop and many people end up sitting on the bench without meaningful work. This creates uncertainty and frustration.
