There is potential for career changers, but be aware of the aggressive company culture.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
The work atmosphere can vary greatly depending on the department; for me, it was pretty okay.
The overall atmosphere in the company is very high pressure and chaotic. Every sale is celebrated with a bell ringing (like in *The Wolf of Wall Street*). This creates a certain “drive,” but it actually annoyed me. Even if you don’t work in that department, it’s important to note that this culture is encouraged throughout the company (quantity over quality).
Kommunikation
Concrete feedback was only provided once it was already too late.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
The colleagues got along great and were always friendly with one another. However, teamwork was rare; we were mostly expected to work on our own. There were no guidelines, standards, or structure in the work; tasks were often duplicated and frequently ended up being a waste of time. This is not for people that like to work in teams. The culture is towards pressing people to achieve more (no clear goals).
Work-Life-Balance
This varies greatly depending on the department within the company. From what I’ve heard, overtime is expected or even encouraged in some departments (as part of the variable pay component). For me it was okay though.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Relatively inexperienced and little leadership. Pressure from higher-ups is passed down, and only hard results matter, regardless of how they’re achieved (there are no company standards).
Interessante Aufgaben
A wide variety of tasks and projects.
Gleichberechtigung
As far as I can tell, Enpal takes this issue seriously. They’re actively pursuing initiatives, particularly to promote gender equality.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
I didn't have much contact with my older colleagues, so I can't say much about that.
Arbeitsbedingungen
A new campus was built in Berlin, so the building is very modern. Hybrid work was an option; employees were expected to work in the office about three days a week and remotely two days a week.
The work equipment was already quite outdated (laptops, headsets). Workstations often had issues (monitors that didn't work properly).
Meetings were often scheduled on the fly or canceled, frequently without any preparation or follow-up. There was little structure to speak of. The work atmosphere was actually rather chaotic, and colleagues were often rushed or irritable (probably because they were stressed out by too many unnecessary meetings).
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
While the company is at the forefront of the renewable energy debate in Germany, there is no secret within the company that environmental consciousness isn't really a priority. It's mainly about the money.
Gehalt/Benefits
The pay was good

Enpal's reputation is somewhat mixed (see Reddit). Their advertising and customer acquisition efforts are very aggressive; they prioritize quantity over quality.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
In my opinion, as a career changer with no formal training, you can make relatively good money at Enpal. However, you really have to be willing to put in the effort and deal with a lot of stress.
If you already have a trade, have standards for quality, or have other expectations of an employer, this isn’t the right place for you.
