Well, it’s definitely seen better days. Toxic team leads, heads ofs and management bring it down. There’s no reward if one person is carrying the whole team including a clueless team lead or if someone else just does nothing. In the end, it’s all the same. But there are still cool people who keep things afloat.
Work-Life-Balance
This really depends. I know some people worked normal hours, some didn't work at all and some worked severe overtime. A few people had to do the job of three while management just conveniently looked away.

This is where it gets really juicy. There are good leads and department heads. If you have one, you’re lucky, but if you don’t, you’re cooked. Some have negative people management skills (don’t even know how that’s possible) and some know less about the area they lead than an intern. So yeah, there are problems on that side. Problematic jokes and unprofessional behavior aren’t unknown either.
Kommunikation
It’s pretty problematic when it’s top down because that’s not really working, but bottom up doesn't work either since it just falls on deaf ears. Things are usually fine between colleagues, though they’re the ones actually keeping everything running.
