Sehr familiär. Ich habe noch bei keinem Unternehmen gearbeitet, bei dem die Mitarbeiter so geschätzt werden wie hier. Es gibt Benefits ohne Ende, man wird immer nach der eigenen Meinung gefragt und kann auch bedenkenlos Kritik üben. Einer der Unternehmenswerte ist "Trust" und das wird tatsächlich auch auf allen Ebenen, über alle Abteilungen hinweg gelebt.
Durch das tolle Office (inkl. Fitnessstudio, Spielekonsolen und super Lage mit vielen Restaurants in direkter Nähe) und die familiäre Atmosphäre verbringt man automatisch mehr Zeit auf der Arbeit, als bei dem klassischen 9 to 5 Job. Das ist einem aber komplett selbst überlassen und wenn man das nicht möchte, wird es einem auch nicht zum Nachteil gemacht.
Es gibt ein großzügiges Weiterbildungsbudget
Man versteht sich hier als großes Team. Es gibt hier keine Konkurrenzkämpfe oder Lästereien. Auch die Feedback-Kultur ist super. Es gibt viele Events für Mitarbeiter, Filme-Abende, Partys...
Besser geht es wirklich nicht. Im Office gibt es gratis Softgetränke und Snacks und 3 x pro Woche kostenloses Mittagessen bzw. Brunch. Es gibt ein Fitnessstudio in dem während und nach der Arbeitszeit Kurse angeboten werden. Man bekommt die neuste technische Ausstattung und was man halt so braucht zum Arbeiten.
Super! Selbst in schwierigen Zeiten wird transparent kommuniziert. Das Management stellt sich immer den Fragen und der Kritik der Mitarbeiter! Auch zwischen den Teams ist die Kommunikation top. Man hat hier wirklich den Eindruck, dass man gemeinsam an einem Strang zieht.
Es gibt ein transparentes Stufensystem beim Gehalt, sodass man immer weiß, welches Gehalt man bekommt, wenn man befördert wird und es nicht nur vom Verhandlungsgeschick abhängt. Betriebliche Altersvorsorge und Mitarbeiterbeteiligung gibt es auch.
Nothing. They are beyond fixing.
Extremely chaotic environment. No one knows what they are doing. No proper communication between managers, product team and engineering.
Lack of funding. Company has not turned a profit even after 13 years. Really bad image. They charge close to 3 times regular price of tickets.
Scamming both investors and customers.
Really limited. Not a great place to start your career.
Probably the worst. Feedbacks and performance reviews cannot be trusted. Hire and fire culture. You might be appreciated and let go the next day.
Absolutely bad. Tasks are not properly thought of. No clear vision on what the management wants.
Salaries not competitive.
Tasks are becoming limited recently owing the age of the company. No proper planning on future projects before hiring, so you might end up on the wrong team with stagnant and monotonous tasks.

Keine 'crazy hours', aber natürlich auch kein '9 to 5'. Es gibt keinen Druck lange Zeit am Schreibtisch zu verbringen, aber um mich herum hat man Spass am Job und will ihn gut machen. Das kann eben auch mal eine Stunde länger dauern.
Hauptsächlich 'on the job' aber es gibt ein persönliches Budget, das man relativ selbstständig für seine eigene Weiterbildung einsetzen kann
Orientiert sich an nationalen und internationalen Tech Organisationen, für Berlin also sehr wettbewerbsfähig

Ich habe noch nie in einem Unternehmen gearbeitet, wo so transparent mit Zahlen und Informationen jeder Art umgegangen wird. Das ist ein Aspekt, der mich sehr an das arbeiten im Valley erinnert. Man versteht sich als grosses Team, das gemeinsam auf das Ziel hinarbeitet, GYG zu einem der ganz grossen Unternehmen in der Reisebranche zum machen
Obwohl es im Tech Umfeld nicht einfach ist, ist GYG sehr aktiv darum bemüht, die Quote zu erhöhen. Das Thema wird auch oft angesprochen und der Fortschritt gemessen.

Lacks structure, people are not treated same, huge difference in terms of working conditions between different departments, unclear communication from above. Too personal: often feedback sessions, interviews go deep into personal level and they are overwhelming with no clear outcome from such exchanges for professional development. Structure, clarity is lacking in an ever-changing environment.
Try to keep working pace and don't let the fast growth produce the vast sense of confusion and disappointment when it comes to 'handling' employees. Be more clear with changes, hiring decisions, working conditions and make people that their opinion and engagement are REALLY listened/valued.

depending on availability and demand of certain languages in CS, everyone can issue holiday requests at any time. high season must be taken into consideration, though. august contains a holiday ban, which all of us are happy to compromise.
internal job boards enable employees to apply for GYG jobs before they get posted publicly - opportunity is offered in various occasions.
completely depends on what you are looking for. GYG is a startup which does pay its employees more than satisfactory. still, if you're willing to compromise the big bucks for a great atmosphere and work ethic, this is the right place. with such a huge growth rate like GYG, salaries are constantly evolving and changing.
