Still an amazing place to work, but on its way down
Arbeitsatmosphäre
Local atmosphere - your team, your direct manager, everyone you'll interact directly with - is stellar. Company-level bureaucracy is abysmal and arbitrary, though.
Work-Life-Balance
Company is very respectful and accomodating.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Used to be stellar, but Google has introduced rigorous quotas for promotions and it has become a bit of a knife fight.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Really, the peers are the reason you go and work for Google.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
5 stars for direct line managers, but 2 stars for VP+ levels. Expect VPs to change every 2 years, and make all decisions in their first year at random.
Arbeitsbedingungen
5 stars for fun, 1 star for practicality and functionality. Offices are open plan, maximally packed, noisy, with no concern for productivity. Ventilation rarely works.
Kommunikation
Culture is very open, you'll get all the info you need and much more. We called it "drinking from the firehose".
Gehalt/Benefits
You'll rarely find better pay & more generous benefits.
