The brand name still carries weight
A handful of great colleagues who genuinely care
Leadership built on ego and personal alliances
Gaslighting and denial of obvious facts
Unequal salary practices
Chaotic processes and no accountability
Competence is overlooked while incompetence is rewarded
Replace favoritism with merit-based decisions
Train leadership in communication and people management
Build processes instead of letting politics run the company
Create salary transparency and fair structures
Address the gaslighting culture and lack of accountability
A polished brand on the outside, but behind the scenes the atmosphere is tense, political, and draining. Competence isn’t valued, proximity to the right people is. That creates an environment where good work goes unnoticed and toxic dynamics thrive.
Strong externally thanks to the brand. Internally, the image is much weaker, and turnover reflects that.
Work-life balance depends entirely on your department and your manager. Processes are chaotic, responsibilities shift overnight, and there’s no real understanding of boundaries. This leads to regular overload.
Formal development was limited during my time may not be the case now or it probably depends who you know in the company lol. Most learning happens through navigating internal dysfunction rather than actual training.
Career development is arbitrary and tied to personal connections. Salary transparency is poor, and there are noticeable differences based on background. Competence isn’t what determines your growth.
Externally, the company presents itself as progressive. Internally, the social culture is nowhere near where it should be. Genuine awareness or responsibility is not felt day-to-day. Social awareness is a token in this place. They hire diverse faces to never look at them again.
Some colleagues genuinely try to support each other, but team spirit is constantly undermined by favoritism and internal alliances. They hate to see people happy and thriving unless it is part of their "circle". Talented people are often sidelined, while less competent individuals are promoted because they’re close to the right managers.
No noticeable issues here. The problems aren’t age-related, they’re structural and cultural.
Leadership is the biggest issue. Decisions are driven by personal relationships, not expertise. Accountability is nonexistent, criticism is deflected, and uncomfortable truths are ignored. Managers often rewrite facts to suit whatever narrative they prefer.
Disorganized workflows, unclear processes, shifting priorities, and outdated structures. People spend more time dealing with internal dysfunction than doing their jobs.
Communication is vague, inconsistent, and often contradictory. You’ll be told one thing, experience another, and then be blamed for the confusion. Gaslighting is a recurring theme, and clear communication simply isn’t part of the culture.
Equal opportunities highly depend on who you’re connected to. Expats and newcomers often end up at a disadvantage, both in salary and in professional recognition.
The content itself is interesting, projects with big brands, large events, visibility. But the constant internal chaos makes it hard to focus or actually enjoy the work.
The atmosphere is stressful. There are a lot of last-minute tasks and unclear instructions. Not a pleasant place to work.
IFA is organized by Clarion, which also hosts defense shows like DSEI. I personally find this ethically difficult.
IFA generates a lot of waste. Although Clarion talks about sustainability, I did not see much real action. After the event, there is a lot of leftover electronics, materials, and disposable items.
Some coworkers are friendly and helpful, but there was also gossip and favoritism. Some people acted in ways that felt like bullying, and nothing seemed to be done about it. I am glad I am no longer working there.
They hire people for about six months before the event. You work very hard and go through so many stressful situations, and then they tend to fire people after 6 months.
Even though I got positive feedback from my team lead right before the end of the probezeit, I was still fired by management on my last day of probation. I guess they only want people for a short time to prepare the event.
Benefits are very limited. No BVG ticket, slow computers, and no real perks.

Home office days - easy
They keep my pockets full
No drama, no stress

None and they dont care.
they sneak new agreements after you start and force to accept or fire you
you will get none
- not interested at all in permanent workers
- do not provide any social benefits such as BVG, discounts etc, nothing at all, even basic equipment such as laptop stands
- have a tendency to hire people 6 months before the event, so people have 6 months of Probation time and work hard and prepare for the event. On last day of probation, people are fired without any specific reason.
- poor communication between team leads and workers, almost non existent
- pay in my case was decent but the scheme of working for only 6 months is not worth it
Toxic
Nothing to support the education, any questions about educational possibilities, are neglected with note "no budget".
People are afraid to speak up, and those who are not scared are getting fired
CEO is isolated from the majority of workers, has only few close people
They have a scheme: the event happens once a year, and from October to March there is no job to be done. IFA hires people 6 months before event, so people have 6 months of Probation time and work hard and prepare the event. On the last day of probation, people are fired without any specific reason.
Not clear, hierarchy levels are extreme
Non-existent, men in general in leading positions
