acceptance of restructuring plans for teams and processes may benefit from stakeholder involvement and more sensitive communication by formal superiors.
relaxed atmosphere, no hierarchy in the Hamburg team. independent handling of own responsibilities with minimal formal reporting to "superiors" while back-up from the team is always available. some stereotypical aspects of tech industry do materialize so previous experience in a similar work environment will be helpful for settling into and working at Impero.
splendid work life balance. since geographies for sales and clients for CSM are assigned to one main responsible person everyone is very independent in planning their own work hours to accommodate personal life choices. minimal internal alignment calls (averagely 1-2 hours a week), no stand-ups or dailies. presence in the office is encouraged and necessary to keep it this way, resulting in averagely three office days per week for each person.
a system for structured (advanced) training is currently under development.
considerate leadership in the Hamburg team.
open, direct communication within the Hamburg team. best practices as well as mistakes and learnings are freely shared among team members. (granular) feedback on work outcomes must be actively requested. communication is sometimes a little strained between DACH and other regions, reflecting their differing communication and management styles. aspirations for close international interaction in daily work life may not be satisfied by the organizational structure. rather, Hamburg/DACH represents the geographical scope of (team) work.
everyone interacts respectfully and attentive to differing professional and educational backgrounds and worldviews. personally, I feel like those differences are appreciated by both leadership and colleagues for shaping a well-rounded team. nonetheless, sometimes rather drastic gender-based assumptions/perceptions do find their way into conversations. however, both the leadership in Hamburg and the CEO are attentive and outspoken about soothing these conditions.
Impero sells and implements one tool that solves the specific issue of risk and control management for clients. it is very easy to understand and use for everyone. while the use cases may differ slightly and each client's individual technical and structural requirements for deploying Impero must be accommodated, the tasks and daily activities are rather consistent over time.
flat hierarchy. short ways.
a lot of flexibility and personal responsibility in day-to-day work. structures and processes can be scrutinised and discussed and developed together.
work on the communication between DK and Germany
Personally, I had a positive experience and experienced a lot of appreciation from colleagues. You're allowed to try things out - if you get stuck, there's always someone you can refer to and ask for support.
You are also given responsibility early on.
large customer base, well-known companies and dax groups in the portfolio and a very good standing/image there.
but more can happen in terms of marketing and external impact.
Flexible working hours, home office and holidays were always made possible.
Workshops, training and further education opportunities can always be requested and discussed together.
However, more needs to happen in terms of personnel and career development.
As part of a small team in Hamburg, the team spirit and support is great - but is also noticeable in Denmark.
modern, own office parcels in WeWork, located very central in Hamburg, offering everything you need.
hardware is state of the art - everyone is free to choose the work equipment (macbook or windows laptop) + additional supplies for daily work.
Changes, news and decisions are communicated on a regular basis.
Nevertheless, Impero can still go one better here and work on the way in which communication is distributed between DK and Germany and how decisions are made.
High degree of personal organisation and structuring of the working day. However, some days are less demanding, others are more stressful.
