Room to improve, but overall an excellent place to work

Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Jedox wants its employees to succeed and doesn't have rigid expectations about how that should be done, as long as the job gets done.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Leadership is all male, all white and all German. The most recently filled leadership roles all seem to be friends, and it feels a bit like nepotism. It would be nice to see more people promoted to leadership from within.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

Focus on diversity (people of color, women) in department heads and upper management is absolutely needed.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

The office atmosphere is fun and attitudes are generally good. Even when workloads are heavy, people somehow find a way to enjoy themselves at work.

Kommunikation

Communication among smaller teams is great. But the more teams are involved, the more quickly communication can become a problem. Additionally, certain policies have been enacted from the top down, without time for discussion or regard to employee feedback.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Almost every team and person I have worked with has been reliable and willing to help.

Work-Life-Balance

Flexible hours. Home office is generally acceptable. Taking holiday is encouraged. Part-time work is also possible.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

There is no Betriebsrat at Jedox, which is something that could help management and employees. Upper management has sometimes made decisions that feel divorced from the reality of their employees. That being said, the way in which Jedox management has navigated the COVID crisis is admirable and gives me more trust in them.

Interessante Aufgaben

Despite what appears to be an ordinary product, the work is interesting and varied.

Gleichberechtigung

Very few women are heads of their departments, and those who are work in more traditionally female-led departments (e.g. HR or marketing). There are no women in upper management.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

A lot of opportunity for learning and growth. Employer-paid trainings and certifications are offered as well as language courses.
