Technical Manager (m/f/d) - agricultural solutions

KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA is looking for a dedicated Technical Manager (m/f/d).

As part of our team, you will be responsible for the technical engineering contribution on KWS side to support the development of non-chemical weed control solutions on sugarbeet. Your duties comprise all value chain levels but in particular the close contact with selected partners to further develop the technology.

The contractual work location is in Einbeck (Lower Saxony/Germany) and this exciting position is full- or part-time, permanent and to be filled at the earliest possible date.

Your tasks - challenge and responsibility:

• Contributing from Business Unit Sugarbeet side to support the co-development of innovative technologies for non-chemical weed control in sugarbeet and other field crops.
• Checking the performance of systems and contribute to its further improvement.
• Working on technology projects with various stakeholders.
• Training internal customers and pioneers on proper operation of systems.
• Being the technical interface and first point of contact to the customer during testing and development phase.
• Providing technical support for other BU Sugarbeet Business Ventures projects.

Your profile - competence meets personality:

• Academic degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in mechanical/electrical engineering or Software/Computer Vision Engineering.
• Several years of professional experience in a related field and in-depth understanding of systems engineering and/or robotic engineering.
• Technical expertise and knowledge of sensor technologies, in optical systems and in algorithm development.
• Proficiency in software development such as C++, Python, or ROS is an asset.
• Professional written and verbal English, additional language skills are an asset, in particular German and/or French.
• Willingness to travel globally up to 35% of working time; Driving-License B.
• Hands on character, able to work in the office but also outdoors.
• Effective communication and intercultural skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
