Startup-ish in a big traditional company with incredibly amazing colleagues

Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

* taking mental and physical serious and starting to make it transparent by a survey
* open, trustful relationships
but for me the mist important: the people! <3

Arbeitsatmosphäre

I appreciate my colleagues around me and much more I appreciate my team, I am allowed to work with! I see very skilled, engaged and so friendly people around me. I feel so welcomed and comfortable; I also appreciate the work with my manager, who is always very eager to listen and to understand and also challenging and supporting me. When I am in the office I think its a friendly, smiling atmosphere.

Kommunikation

In my impressions there is room for improvement. I like the quarterly town halls where our GCO gives us a good overview about the situation. We also have town halls in our Tech department. But nevertheless, we also have issues with:
* people are not informed properly
* missing communication or involvement
* and sometimes the traditional "floor radio"
Also myself as a manager I am missing it to inform my team in time and properly, because I am tending to prioritizing operational work. But we talk about that very openly and what I can see here is, that we are always eager to improve and try ways to make it better!

Kollegenzusammenhalt

In my perception its a really strong connection in our teams. And there is also a strong connection with many other teams or colleagues across teams. And still there is also "shadow". In my belief its not that colleagues dont want to help, its more, they might not aware of it, or they just have too much on their own plate.

Work-Life-Balance

I am working part-time 30 hours per week. (everyone knows who I am know ;-)) But for me its a good balance. No one is forcing me working on weekends or overtime. Of course my manager is trusting me that I can take care of my self and get in touch if something goes in the wrong direction. This is working fine for me. As a manager myself I am also trying to exemplify this. Its important for me that no one is working overtime or on weekends. That everyone can do the vacation he/she/it wants to. I see that physical and mental healthiness is an important topic for us and that we are making it more and more transparent how we all are feeling.
And I also appreciate my team, which also supports me working as a team lead part time. This is also not easy for them! <3
And true: I also feel sometimes mentally overloaded, I also struggling, because there are tasks I am overwhelmed with or I dont know hot to handle that, BUT I can always tell my manager about that and he NEVER rejected me. (no one did )

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Emotional support is something very important for me and I get this from my manager 100%; I feel valued and trusted; I can talk openly and directly to my manager; The reason why I only did 4 from 5 stars is, that I think sometimes the lack of time is an issue.
As a manager myself I know that one of my "downsides" are that I am tending to prioritizing operational topics. But I hope I am able to create also this positive and trustful relationship, that my team knows that they can come to me in any case!

Interessante Aufgaben

It is challenging; its so international and we doing a very great thing here and besides that, we are using really state of the art products and tech-stacks;

Gleichberechtigung

The company does a lot and wants to become more diverse. Proof is that I am able to do a manager job in part time. Do more of that!
And also there is shadow: its still a man dominated area and in the leadership round only 3-4 women.
We are a very international company, my colleagues come all over the world and I never experienced or heard something negative about that. I think we all love that internationally and acting respectfully.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

I am also old, so for me its fine ;-)

Arbeitsbedingungen

Very nice and modern office; super location in Munich; good equipment (macs or windows); I am not missing something

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

I guess its fair; Knauf orients on current salary bands in Munich;

For me Knauf has a big image; I feel always a little bit touched if I see a Knauf logo on a construction side; The company has a very long story to tell; But of course the Knauf Digital GmbH is mabye not so well known. We might could do more for our image.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

There is room for improvement. We dont have yet a full career path system, but we are working on it, because we know that this is very important;
