Interessantes Produktumfeld im Rail-Bereich.
Einige sehr kompetente Kollegen.
A modern work environment and relatively flat hierarchies. The shared lunches (“Oma” lunch) were a nice touch, and it was great to see so many different cultures coming together to work and occasionally celebrate as a team.
As in many corporate environments, I find it problematic when a “family-like” culture is actively promoted. The idea that “we’re all friends” can feel forced and, in my view, is sometimes used to foster loyalty, even though that sense of “family” often ends once the employment relationship does. Ultimately, employees sign an employment contract, not a family contract, and expectations should remain within a professional scope.
I also question the value of annual performance reviews conducted through HR tools. The process often involves lengthy self-assessments and requesting detailed feedback from colleagues, which can feel more like a control mechanism than a meaningful dialogue. If there are concerns about performance, these should be addressed proactively throughout the year. If not, the purpose of such extensive evaluations becomes unclear. At times, it feels reminiscent of being back in school, having to justify something that should already be evident in day-to-day work.
Hire leaders who have proven experience in the rail industry. Introduce a structured mentoring program for new employees, with carefully selected mentors who are genuinely available and act as reliable points of contact.
Typical startup environment: somewhat chaotic, with limited coordination between teams and a general sense that not everyone is aligned.
Work-life balance is something the company claims to value and support, but high-performing individuals seem overworked and taken advantage of. If you don’t actively set your own boundaries you may end up being exploited.
Good training budget.
Colleagues who have been there for a long time form a close-knit group and tend to stick together. As is typical for startups, they’ve seen many people come and go, which makes it harder for new employees to be welcomed into the social circle.
There are hardly any older colleagues, except at the management level. This gives the impression that older candidates are not actively hired.
It varies depending on the manager. Overall, many people in leadership roles seem to have been promoted because they were next in line rather than because they demonstrated strong leadership skills. Some lower-level team leads act as buffers for higher management and are under significant pressure to deliver. That said, this dynamic is not uncommon in many organizations.
Open-plan office with smaller quiet booths where you end up sitting like a sardine in a can. That said, the office itself is well maintained, with a large kitchen and a great rooftop terrace.
There was always a lot of talking, but not about the things that actually mattered. An illusion of “having a say” was created through company-wide weekly meetings, but in the end, it felt like any other corporate environment: a lot of hypocrisy, a lot of image-driven talk, and very little substance.
Compensation is genuinely fair and competitive. While salary increases were put on hold, the current pay level is solid enough that this is manageable. The training and development budget is generous.
In Fachkreisen eventuell bekannt
KONUX GmbH is a good company which supports the growth of every individual and provide benefits as a sign of strong commitments to each employees.
Expectations of performance are similar to other companies.
The message to everyone is be a leader of her/himself which in fact should be standard mindset of each employees.
I can not find one as the management consciously finds ways to attend the needs of the employees and find ways to be better. KONUX evolves in all aspects and there are changes to attend to. This is not an easy job.
It is always easy to complain and blame others. Sorry, this is the loser mindset.
We had survey and I suggested to provide healthy stuff - more fruits. We have now enough free fruits and I am satisfied.
Keep an eye on guiding the managers (majority of them are young) on how to lead and on having enough time to listen the needs of their employees, team and take actions (walk the talk).
I worked with various companies before and in different industries. KONUX has positive vibes, a pleasant and creative working environment. The expectation with regards to performance does not differ to other companies, to German family owned or multi national companies.
Every individual contributes for the success of KONUX. This is the core message of the management. As an employee we also need to understand it and strive for the company's success. This is not a one way traffic. Life is all about taking and giving.
Business is a tough world. Let us just enjoy the ride while contributing our best for our personal and KONUX success.
Meeting and spending time with colleagues outside KONUX is often the case. Personally, I am loving it.
One thing I want to stress here that at KONUX it really does not matter the preferred "orientation" -LGBT+++. Everybody has the freedom and is welcomed to bring his/her partners. First time I am experiencing it in a company - giving space to everyone to breath freely and just embrace life as it is. I admire it very much.
KONUX has a good image in the railway industries.
KONUX offers lots of support and benefits for personal/career developments, for further studies/trainings, sport for physical fit or NILO for mental being.
The thing is that everyone of us is responsible for our well being, our health. Do not delegate this to the company. Take ownership of your sole WEALTH and that is your HEALTH.
Of course there are lots of deliverables and performance expectations but at the end of the day - know your limits. We have access to NILO and there, everyone of us will learn/know the art of saying NO when the limit is reached.
P&C is always campaigning about NILO health. Make use of it.
We have a budget of 3.600 € per year.
I have wonderful experiences working with my colleagues across the group. Everyone is ready to help each other, to solve challenges and also with it comes to optimization of processes. Process optimization is always the bottle neck of every company. Changes are painful more often but they are always needed as not to be in the limbo of stagnation and tremendous transaction costs.
Challenges are more often not easy but through dedication, striving to get things done and with the right mindset we always make it.
The key to success is professionalism. Do not take things personally. Take it easy.
I do not have any unpleasant experiences and I am also a person who see good in every person.
Most of the employees are young and through them I see myself before as a young employee - striving and forming my career path. That is why I understand them without any judgement. In fact I find it very fascinating to be part of a diversified and young environment. I love the energy and the powerful dynamic spirit of the whole company.
Knowing that I have learned a lot from life, I just take it easy. Everyone of us must experience life and das ist gut so.
It is fair. Work hard and play hard.
Open culture is being practiced and promoted which is good.
There is still room for improvement, on how, where and what to communicate.
It is sometimes misleading the meaning of "open culture". P&C should elaborate more on the value of professionalism and respect - on how to convey the message.
Compensation is standard in the market.
As the KONUX is growing there are also lots of challenges that are coming along the way - the team structures, the processes, the resources and other strategic topics.
It is only a matter of mindset on how each one of us, see our role as part of the whole group defined visions and goals. Either we always complain as we do not know the path or we keep going, lead and create that path that lead to success.
unangenehm
langweilig
Vision, Gehalt und Benefits
Chaos in jedem Team, keine Strukturen, kein Entwicklungsplan
Rückkehr ins Büro an 2 Tagen/Woche
In Wirklichkeit NICHT...
The work of the people and culture department shows the company's commitment to providing for employees. Some need to use those benefits more however. Overall, atmosphere and tenor of the company is enjoyable.
see "verbesserungsvorschläge"
Find more opportunities to help employees enjoy time off and recover. The desire to go, go, go can be to much for some team members. A majority of the decisions and strategies have a lot of thought behind them and are well-planned and executed. However taking a step back and allowing people to breathe is a good idea... and that includes time in the office and out of the office.
The atmosphere is enjoyable and I regularly find myself wanted to stay and spend time with colleagues outside of work.
Overall the team members are focused and confident. Sometimes, tension rises while working on a project, but the wins are celebrated loudly which I really appreciate and the feeling is one of optimism and belief in the goals.
Many inside the rail industry have a positive image of KONUX and exhibit some envy for the employees of the company.
There are plenty of places for the company to improve that image of itself and as seen by others, such as those listed above. However, self reflection appears to be a strength of this company at certain points (mostly) and a desire to continuously improve is evident in many aspects of the company.
A considerable vacation policy with bonus days helps push back on the grind. The day to day ebbs and flows in terms of intensity with some weeks with more action and others with excellent focus time.
The additional Bavarian holidays and personal days off for special occasions helps. I also appreciate being able to work on the go, with everything I need to be mobile.
The personal development budget is considerable and something I have used on occasion, but plan to prioritize more. I see plenty of room to grow along with the possibility of working on new projects to keep learning fresh.
Although, I don't see a ton of upward mobility for myself at the moment, many of my colleagues have been promoted and celebrated within the company. So fingers crossed!
Great pay and benefits, including company shares.
The company lays sustainability at the front of its vision and the product helps with that in some manner, especially with the increase of ridership in rail.
There is space for the company to contribute to good environmental conditions as people and often there are obvious contributions, whether that is volunteering (2 volunteer days a year are paid) or using environmentally friendly products or prioritizing train travel over flying.
Such a diverse group of thinkers is rewarding. The company has grown a significant amount, so it is hard to keep track of names. However regular team events (either by company or by colleagues) helps bridge that gap. That is not to say that there is no friction, but at the same time the dangers of group think are not really prevalent.
Although the company is youthful in many areas, the numerous older colleagues appear to do well in the atmosphere. From colleagues located in other locations, to those in the HQ in Munich, there appears to be a recognition of their strengths and wisdom. Many of these colleagues are in higher positions as you would expect.
The C-level and management are down to Earth and amicable. There is sometimes bit of distance between the highest and the rest, which can feel off-putting. However the regular communication as mentioned above helps alleviate some of that feeling.
A recent addition of ask-me-anything is welcome and helps team members ask and answer the burning questions in the back of their heads.
The office, even if small for the size of the company, has a good feel to it and is set up to help people get their stuff done. Standing desks, second screens and peripherals are all provided. More natural lighting would be good.
From deep dives to open doors and even a newly introduced ask-me-anything session, the attempts to communicate within the company and between depts are numerous. Some people do not have time to attend each and everyone, which is a shame, but the results can be very beneficial.
Most diverse company I have worked at (and the previous employers weren't so bad either). Lots of women in tech, people from around the world and people with different perspectives. Many of those new thought processes are recognized, some are adopted.
Could there be more people in higher positions that break the expectations of a tech company in Germany? Absolutely something I see as having the attention of management and hope to help alleviate soon.
Turning a classic industry such as rail has its challenges that any ambitious person would enjoy. Progress is evident in many areas of the industry and lacking in others. Overall adding the sustainability aspect gives a feeling of contributing to the greater good as opposed to building and hocking software only to make money.
My particular position has me working with many different teams within the company, so every project feels fresh and exciting.
Es muss irgendwann mal was passieren, leider alles sehr passiv.
100% go oder man fällt runter. Burnout Gefahr.
Kollegen meist sehr jung. Die meisten Teamleads: Männer, Weiß, mittleres Alter.
Inclusion bezüglich Herkunft sehr gut, viele Frauen.
Great company culture, good above-average salaries, international and diverse teams, incentives
more flexibility in terms of working models, there's a lot of talented people that are outside of Munich and not willing and/or able to relocate to Munich.
So verdient kununu Geld.
