Not as modern as you would expect from a start-up when it comes to women empowerment and sustainability

Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

- Great benefit by staying in the limehomes for a discounted rate
- Cool colleagues and events
- Great learning curve
- Nice office location

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

- Bad work-life balance
- Sustainability not a priority
- Gender inequality
- No safe space for employees

Verbesserungsvorschläge

- Hire a more diverse team in upper management (male vs female share)
- Make sure employees feel safe and encouraged to give feedback and the feedback is acted upon
- Pay fair salaries not only to the management
- Hire more people to make sure employees don't have 50-60h weeks

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Fun colleagues, nice events and a cool office space

Kommunikation

Not very transparent compared to the companies I used to work for before especially in times of crisis like what impacts it will have on the business & employees. Many decisions were taken without involving people that were directly impacted.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Within the teams yes but some colleagues had a strong hierarchical feel to them and you could feel it.

Work-Life-Balance

Many overhours are required to get the job done however to the outside the company presents itself as a pioneer for a healthy work life balance with a "well-being week" per year...Many people are overworked, overhours are taken for granted and if you raise your voice about it you will not be taken seriously.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

In general I have a feeling that female empowerment is not lived by most of the upper management team. All VPs are male and even head positions are mainly filled by men. This is a real disaster in my opinion thinking about how a company can benefit from a diverse team. Advertising yourself as a diverse company is just a joke when you look at the male/female share in higher roles. In general I had the feeling that if you were raising your voice about something you did not like, it was not taken seriously and was rather used against you so you did not feel safe to say anything.

Interessante Aufgaben

The tasks are challenging and you have lots of ownership to develop your skillset.

Gleichberechtigung

As mentioned above I don't think women have a fair chance to make a great career outside of "typical" female departments like marketing or HR.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

There are not many older colleagues but I wouldn't say there is any unfairness towards them.

Arbeitsbedingungen

The old office had a great location but was very dark however I heard the new office is very nice and light. There is only little budget but expectations are high.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

I was quite ashamed when the company launched their "we care" website which should demonstrate how sustainable the company is but limehome does not even do the basics like trash separation.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Compared to other start-ups the company in my opinion does not pay enough especially for fulltime junior roles. Rents in Munich are very high and the salaries are not adapted according to what is happening to prices at the moment. When it comes to higher roles I feel like salaries are better but not if you count in the many overhours. Nevertheless for interns and working students its quite good I would say.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

You have the chance to develop yourself by the tasks you are given and learn on the go, however there are no training opportunities apart from that.

Dear former limehomie,

Thank you very much for taking your time to give us such detailed feedback. Your thoughts and opinions are always appreciated as they will help us grow and improve as a company.

We are glad to see that you think highly of the learning opportunities at limehome and our benefits and that you appreciate your colleagues and our events so much but of course we are sad to read that you didn’t feel safe to express your concerns and that you felt like you had no real work-life-balance.
We really appreciate that you also included concrete steps to improve! Gender equality is something that has been on our agenda for a while and we are continuously taking action here. We encourage all limehomies to give feedback as it is deeply ingrained in our company culture. Additionally to the possibilites of directly reaching out in person we have regular engagement surveys which are taken very seriously and help us to take action on anonymous feedback as well. When it comes to salaries we constantly monitor developments on the market and adapt them whenever necessary. Thereby we're always taking in multiple factors with regards to internal & external equity into account to ensure that we at all times pay fair & competitive salaries throughout the company.

We are happy to learn every day and would highly appreciate you connecting with us personally so we can talk about all the aspects mentioned in more detail as every feedback we get will help us strengthen and improve.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Kind regards
your limehome People&Culture Team
