I normally don’t review job interviews unless they were exceptionally good or exceptionally bad, as was the case here.
The first interview with HR was perfectly fine and mainly focused on getting to know each other, as well as a few general questions and checks.
The second interview, which this review refers to, was with the General Manager and was unfortunately one of the worst job interviews I have experienced so far. The meeting was scheduled at very short notice, and there was no particularly positive atmosphere from the start. The interviewer came across to me as rather unprepared and not particularly motivated to attract a potential new employee to the company. Instead of a genuine exchange, the conversation largely consisted of working through a predefined list of questions. Some of my questions were not answered convincingly, the interviewer repeated himself several times and appeared visibly stressed throughout the conversation.
The interview did not leave me with the impression that this was someone I would want to work for on a long-term basis. Of course, I can only assess the specific interaction I experienced – everyone can have a bad day. However, especially in a leadership position, I believe that being sufficiently prepared and professional in an interview, particularly when trying to attract new talent, is important. In this case, unfortunately, that did not come across to me.
Had Mindspace not rejected my application, I would definitely have withdrawn from the process myself.
The handling of feedback afterwards was also rather unprofessional. HR had sent me a link to a Microsoft Forms page to provide feedback, but the link had already expired. I still took the time to point this out and asked them to send me an updated link. Unfortunately, there was no further response after that, which also left an unprofessional impression.
Transparente Kommunikation an erster Stelle setzen. Sehr unprofessionell.
I think it's important to give the applicant a chance for an interview before rejecting them. Unfortunately, I received a call 2 hours prior to my second interview, which was very disappointing and shows how unprofessional the hiring manager was and how the company operates internally. However, I wish the applicant and the company all the best for the future
Very little structure in the selections process, adding random interviews last minute, the email sent were full of typos which makes me think the candidates are the least of their priorities. One of the phone calls was taken by the interviewer whilst walking and clearly paid very little attention. The interviewers were not taking notes or not sharing them amongst each other because all of them asked the same questions over and over. They scheduled the 6th round of interviews and 4 days before the date (after I organized my day at work to be able to attend) they send me a super standard rejection email (with typos again). I felt the interviewers are not very respectful and I would absolutely not recommend such an organization. The candidate experience says a lot about the company and the way things are done.
Get a HR manager. The one you claim to be working in HR is not answering her phone or email.
So verdient kununu Geld.
