Very transparent and empowering. However, Netlight is a Network organisation spanning multiple offices (think: flock of birds). We have overcome a lot of challenges of decentralised decision making and communication, but some remain.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
A good amount of people became friends. Everyone is striving to integrate other people regardless.
Work-Life-Balance
40h at the client on average, not more, not less. However personal growth is not factored into the equation (e.g. education, knowledge sharing, coaching, mentoring, interviews, client meetings outside your current client). You're not forced to do anything and a lot of the examples are super rewarding for me. However I observe that especially younger colleagues struggle to resist all of the temptations at cost of their work-life-balance.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
No classic bosses. Ask for advice, not for permission. This might sound unusual, but it works – things just might take longer in some cases. There are rituals to facilitate recurring decisions like promotions (360 degree reviews). Some roles like mentors and delivery coaches provide structure.
Interessante Aufgaben
As a consultant, it depends on your project and the client. Projects are very diverse, mostly at the core of some digitalisation process. Keeping everyone happy is a key concern, so problems at difficult clients will be resolved. Internal potential tasks and responsibilities within Netlight are very diverse too.
Gleichberechtigung
IT is still an industry dominated by a certain gender and socio-ethnic background. At Netlight there are many initiatives and voices, who are pushing to change this on a daily basis. Salaries and career chances are gender-equal.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
In my perception age is not an issue. However, we do not have many colleagues past the age of 40. At the salary expectation of a potential "older" recruit, you would have to take on responsibilities for which you are not equipped. It takes some time to fully understand Netlight's combination of new, modern and existing philosophies. Hiring people who did not "grow up" at Netlight is a chicken and egg problem we have yet to solve.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
Offsetting and striving to minimize CO2 emissions, serving only vegetarian food at events. Pro-bono work between projects is encouraged.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Netlight has transparent pay ranges, which are constantly revised across the whole company. Every 6 months there is also a personal reflection and potential level alignment.

It's a fine image, both internally and externally – on rare occasions with a slightly better opinion about ourselves than we actually are.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
No fixed budget. It's rather your own responsibility to prioritise and analyse your needs. Again, ask for advice, not for permission. For smaller expenses, this can be a bit tedious, if you're not used to it.
