Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Overall - after two years with Optimax - I can say this is a place where people are trusted, challenged, and genuinely cared for. You don’t work for the company - you work with it. For anyone who values meaningful work, strong culture, and personal growth, this is an exceptional environment.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

As the company continues to scale, further strengthening leadership development and cross-team collaboration - particularly in our highly technical areas - would definitely be valuable.

However, the awareness for this already exists, and I'm positive that continued investment in this direction will help maintain the strong culture while growing.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

The working atmosphere is exceptionally warm, honest and supportive - especially among colleagues. There is a genuine sense of appreciation, openness, and constructive feedback.

When I started, I enjoyed a very thoughtful onboarding, and the open, experimental mindset towards new ideas. Colleagues from abroad can use free German language courses during working hours, and we try to organize monthly community events to help everyone settle in quickly and grow together.

Overall, I really enjoy working with highly motivated, intelligent and inspiring people - that's incredibly motivating for me personally, every single day.

Kommunikation

Communication is - especially for the area that I can assess - generally open, honest, and solution-oriented. Feedback is encouraged (we have frequent 1-on-1's with our team leads) and appreciated, and different perspectives are welcomed.

Nevertheless, there is still room for improvement - But here too, the driving force comes from P&C, as well as directly from individual employees who see these "growth problems" and never tire of initiating improvements.

What stands out positively is the willingness to reflect on existing processes, openly address challenges, and continuously improve the way teams collaborate and exchange information.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Many of us are at a relatively similar stage in our lives, we are roughly the same age (or at least feel that way) and have similar interests - this cultural fit is also taken into account when putting teams together, and you can really feel that in the way we work together.

Work-Life-Balance

Work-Life-Balance at Optimax goes well beyond flexible hours or benefits --> Especially as a parent, I greatly appreciate the trust-based flexibility in working hours and vacation planning.

Then there is something else that I have never experienced in a company before: Physical and mental well-being are taken seriously and actively supported through very suitable benefits such as free massages, fitness programs and access to psychological support, as well as initiatives around self-development and reflection.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

(Team) Leadership is generally very appreciative and attentive, particularly within the business-oriented teams. There is a sincere interest in people, not just performance, which is actively lived also by the CEOs.

At the same time, as the company continues to grow, leadership awareness - especially regarding role model behaviour in a flat-hierarchy environment - is an ongoing development process.

For me, however, what is relevant here is that this issue is openly acknowledged and actively addressed through ongoing initiatives.

Interessante Aufgaben

The variety and autonomy of my daily work are one of my biggest sources of motivation. As a marketer, I have the freedom to initiate my own projects, work very broadly and take ownership beyond a single marketing discipline.

This freedom and sense of purpose are not limited to marketing - many of my colleagues in MINT roles describe their work as equally motivating and meaningful - especially within the broader context of the energy sector.

And than - as for me - I feel working in the energy sector is highly motivating. Being part of a politically and socially relevant industry, while operating as a specialised smart trading player, truly feels meaningful - even though I am not a direct contributor ;)

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Salaries are solid and market-aligned for the region.

What truly stands out are the benefits, especially for employees who value physical and mental health offerings or have children, thanks to comprehensive well-being programs (Fitness Programms EGYM Wellpass, Mental Health Coach) and childcare allowances. And then there is our daily fresh lunch - homemade by our personal chef :) That truly is special.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

There is a high expectation for self-responsibility, continuous learning, and personal growth - but in return, a great deal of trust, flexibility, and freedom is given.

Due to flat hierarchies, classic promotions are limited, and career development at Optimax Energy does not primarily follow traditional hierarchical paths.

However, there are many opportunities to grow by taking on additional responsibilities, expanding one’s scope of influence, or developing laterally across the organisation.
