Room for improvement
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
(some) nice colleagues, flexible hours, very liberal work-from-home policy, flexibility to do things I'm interested in besides my main job
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
lack of communication and direction
almost too much flexibility, if people just do what they want, it can create chaos
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Communication, communication, communication. It needs to be so much better, more open and clear, especially from management to the rest of the company but also in between teams for collaboration.
In general, the company just needs a real identity and direction.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
I feel there is a lack of true identity for what this company stands for, what common goals and values are. There is no real company culture, just a lot of people and teams working together without clear direction (yes there are some obvious projects where it's clear what needs to be accomplished, but overall it's just lacking).
Gleichberechtigung
There's a big mix of different ages in the company, though I would say the team tends to be a bit older (40s-50s) than what I experienced in other companies. I think it's a good thing to have a diverse workforce (age, gender, ethnicity etc.), but big age gaps between colleagues doesn't make things easier at this company. Communication styles between different age groups are very different and without a clear identity as a company and it's values, it can be very hit or miss if the communication is good or bad. Though I have not been in such meetings myself, team members have shared of experiences where older people (in management!) have yelled at other colleagues during meetings about miniscule issues. That's highly unprofessionel to me, but it seems to be accepted or at least there's nothing done about it. There seems to be a clear gap between what older colleagues deem acceptable behaviour or communication and what younger generations think is ok and I don't see any attempts from management to allign that.
Arbeitsbedingungen
Modern workplace (though it is not as central, but in Köln-Mühlheim) and devices, mostly flexible working conditions.
I'm not aware of any efforts regarding sustainability.
Gehalt/Benefits
Salary is industry standard or slightly above from my experience.
There's a learning budget to do trainings and you can join workshops etc (I suppose it depends on the manager how much that is supported or encouraged).
