The workload is often quite high, and working overtime is pretty common. While the extra hours can be collected and used later as additional days off, the day-to-day pressure can still be stressful.
Most people tend to focus on their own projects, so there is not a particularly strong team atmosphere or sense of everyone working toward a common goal. The culture feels more individual than collaborative (also as many work almost always from home), which is demotivating.
Flexible hours and the option to work from home are definite positives. On the downside, there are quite a lot of overtime hours.
There are limited opportunities for career progression. An annual assessment process exists, but the criteria are rather unstructured and it is not always clear what is required to progress. The completion of the assessment does not appear to lead to clearly defined outcomes.
There is also no current investment from the company in training. If anyone wants to develop job-related skills, this is generally expected to be done in one’s own time and at one’s own expense. There were previously training initiatives discussed, but were eventually neglected.
The salary is considered to be below the market average. In practice, a wide range of responsibilities is expected, including project management, coordination, scientific research, and active involvement in new acquisitions, all while being compensated at a level below market standards. It is also quite common to be given fixed short-term contracts on a recurring basis.
This topic is highly considered and supported
Overall people are generally helpful when you need support or want to discuss some points. At the same time, everyone tends to be quite busy and overworked, which leaves little time for proper collaboration.
Older colleagues are respected and supported
There are open group discussions about ongoing issues, which is positive. However, these issues or any proposals often do not seem to be followed or actually moved forward.
Good modern office in a convenient location, with some regular events. However, the office rooms lack design elements and feel rather soulless.
The company is generally transparent about what is happening within the business. Management holds regular meetings to share updates, discuss ongoing challenges, and provide visibility into key topics. While this is good, it does not always lead to meaningful changes or resolutions to the issues being discussed. Communication between colleagues is generally okay, but it can sometimes be slow.
There is a fairly balanced gender distribution, with a significant proportion of female colleagues
The workload is often unrealistic, although some potential solutions can be discussed with management.
There is not much influence over the projects you work on - they are usually assigned. Although there are open discussions about direction and thematic areas, new projects are often driven by the market.
Unfortunately, the fact that almost all employees appear to be overworked means that reliability often falls by the wayside. This results in a very stressful way of working together. There is also a lack of clear strategic leadership from the management level, which also makes work more difficult. It is difficult to work together openly and in a spirit of trust.
Overtime and large work peaks are more the rule than the exception. Although you can organize your work as you wish, this must be seen in relative terms when the workload is high.
This topic plays a major role in the company and is supported by everyone.
Promotion opportunities and structure are rather unclear. There is no active promotion of employees. Further training is also not offered proactively. Rather a topic that gets lost in the stress of everyday work.
Unfortunately, the fact that almost all employees appear to be overworked means that reliability often falls by the wayside. This results in a very stressful way of working together. There is more cohesion or unity with regard to the poor working conditions.
As far as I can judge, I would rate this point as positive, although the average age in the company is rather low.
The interaction is open and respectful. Problems can always be addressed, but whether they are solved is another matter. Here too, when decisions are made, it is often unclear how they came about.
The working conditions are positive. The company is located in the Design Office in Cologne, which offers many amenities. All necessary work materials are provided in good quality.
Yes, there are regular meetings. However, we tend to remain in the dark about the big picture. Many processes in the company are difficult or impossible to understand. As already mentioned, there doesn't seem to be a clear corporate strategy.
The salary bears no relation to the stress level and can be classified as below average. In addition, many employees only receive temporary contracts on a recurring basis. A job ticket is provided as an additional benefit.
As far as I can tell, this is the case.
You have virtually no influence on the selection of tasks. You have to do what you have to do. However, many of the projects are interesting.
sehr freundlich und flexible
Innovative topics and opportunities for training, sympathetic team and good leadership.
The flexible working time and allowance to work remotely are great assets.
Lack of transparancy in regards to salary scales and overloading people with work.
Reduce workload and number of projects people work on.
Nettes diverses internationales Team
Möglichkeiten verschiedenster Arbeitszeitmodelle, home office, flexible Arbeitszeiten
alles, was ich oben gut bewertet habe
So verdient kununu Geld.
