Schaeffler used to be a great company with a family oriented culture and hands–on mentality. It was manufacture driven and proud of its roots. The transformation towards a mechatronic system supplier is challenging and the top management does not understand what it takes. The company lost its path and now the owners and the top managers are scared to act and decide. Too much politics and incompetent people are steering the company towards failure. The team and the majority of people are still great and very knowledgeable. But they don’t have a voice. Many external managers are telling stories and show how things should be done but they don’t do it, they just live in a bubble without implementation of realistic measures. It is unfortunate and the best talents are leaving the company because of that.
