Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Some colleagues are nice, free fruits and lots of places to have lunch. Coffee is nice as well.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Unqualified people with lots of responsibilities that they cannot fulfil. Lots of politics. Lack of respect, lots of finger pointing.

I do not recommend it, i have seen better working environments in Germany.

Lots of unnecessary competition. Lack of respect.

Changes are often not told. It feels that we are in the dark.

Some colleagues are nice others are insecure, unprofessional and often unqualified.

Work-Life-Balance

If you ignore the unnecessary pressure and give up on building career in this company working hours are not that long. If you aim to get promoted you are encouraged and indirectly asked to work over time. If you dont work over 50 hours a week dont expect any promotion.

Interessante Aufgaben

Often magic is expected. People high in the hierarchy usually lack understanding of the data base and ask for magic.

Gleichberechtigung

Company is male dominated, and main requirement to succeed is to behave matcho and have a lot of testosterone which most women fale to achieve.

Arbeitsbedingungen

We share a huge office with over 25 people in one room. People do not try to stay quit, talking load is common and no one cares.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Not at all! To start with, they dont even split garbage. We are in the ground floor in a room that used to be a warehouse. We have a door in the middle that is not used, it leaks air, their solution was to cover it with a wooden board. The heaters are often on maximum and the room is often too cold.

We appreciate your feedback, and we have taken into consideration all your concerns. We are sorry to hear this is your impression of our work environment here at smava.

Our company prides itself on focusing on the development of its employees and encouraging them to reach their full potential. Part of this process includes our seniors mentoring younger professionals, who may not yet be so experienced. This is particularly useful given the many cross-functional projects our company runs, in which employees can consult different departments and their experts to gain the necessary tools to succeed. Although sometimes it might feel we expect “magic”, the reality is we want smavians to bring up their best ideas and solve the challenges. Furthermore, we are in the process of focusing the feedback sessions more on individual career-path counseling and employees’ individual needs for training and personal growth.

This brings us, as well, to the point of women in the tech world. Overall, there are many initiatives with the goal of bringing more women to the tech industry, which smava supports. These changes, however, need time, but we are doing our best to increase female representation company-wide, as well as in higher-up positions.
In terms of our physical working space, we admit that we are growing faster than our office space has been. However, we have already found a solution to this challenge – we are moving to a new building very soon, which is being renovated to meet all of smavians’ needs. Our goal is to provide not only the best working conditions, but also recreational areas for our employees and an eco-friendly environment.

Furthermore, we strive to create an independent and flexible work environment, in which our employees can adjust their working hours to their personal needs to create a suitable work-life balance. All of this will add to our continuous efforts to have a culture of mutual support, trust and respect. To this end, we are using a Peakon survey in all departments and also introducing a new cultural-fit tool called Bunch to one department after another.

Finally, we would like to encourage all our employees to address the People and Talent Team in case of any concerns or ideas on how to make smava the greatest place to work!
