Thank you very much for your feedback and the constructive comments to which I would like to reply directly:
1) I appreciate your noticing of the open communication to and from management.
2) Regular pay raise: Was actually implemented in 2019 and done every year to cover at least the inflation rate of the past year, but maybe this comment relates to another weaker point I must admit which was mentioned under
3) better evaluation and finding joint agreements to personal achievements. I totally agree that this area indeed is a a weak point, because I find it rather difficult to define professional goals for each member which need to be in alignment with the company goals and which need to be measurable objectively and fair. Nevertheless this area has a high priority on my to-do list for 2024. I hope that we will get to a transparent and understandable evaluation system which suits all team members without too many attempts.
Work PCs for home office: Every request was answered positively and every wish could be satisfied as far as I remember.

The Administration staff is super helpful. CEO is very friendly and always available to discuss any matter. These two things makes you feel very comfortable to work in this company.

The good and honest connection between the team members and the management. The modern approaches of the top management to cover the demands of the future regarding work / live balance and the funny and smart colleagues. Everyone is very engaged and supportive.

My colleagues are treating me very friendly and respectful. Everyone takes care not to disturb the others.

Most of my work I can plan and organize myself. 3 days per week can be done from home office which allows me to be very flexible when I need to take care of the kids at the same time. I can postpone work to the late hours and everyone will understand the situation. Colleagues are willing to accommodate me whenever possible and vice versa and of course also the top management is supporting such kind of flexibility.

I think there is a lot of room for personal and professional development. I do feel supported a lot if I make a proposal. However, as we are a fairly small team, there is no such thing as regular standardized feedback system. Instead I am asked to take over more responsibility on a frequent basis, but I am not forced to do it if I have the feeling that it does not fit my strenghths 100%.

The CEO is really nice and always answers my questions or proposals at the latest after 2 days. I have the feeling that there is a lot of competence and personal engagement which you do not find so often. The management team as a whole is conscious, reliable and supportive. Only one has a somewhat arrogant attitude from time to time and no good manners but I can mostly avoid him/her.

Arbeitsbedingungen

The hard- and software is updated regularly. PC is super fast and new. We have a nice place to meet for a lunch break and a good private chat. I love the historical industrial architecture of this site, and can feel the history with every breath.

Some of my team members are not as precise in communication as I would like them to be, but with the right questions I get the core information anyway.

Only one person in the whole company who can develop software by modern standards.
If you are a junior developer or tester then you will feel alone.

The people are treated differently and not fairly.

You will not learn anything there except for what you need to look out for in your next job interview.

You get only paid well, if you're a freelancer.
Alternatively, you write so terrible code that no one but you can maintain it and then you can basically request any salary you want.
Looking at what I had to work with, it's quite clear that the highest paid people did this over several years.

The best thing in this company is that they are supporting you in moving to Berlin and finding a flat. Use that, stay in the company for 6 months and then leave.

All PCs are always turned on. All printers are always turned on. Lots of printing to then just throw the paper away.
That's the business there.
Company tries to counter this by supporting the employees in buying bikes but no one really believes that this is for climate reasons as the persons having decided that drive really energy inefficient vehicles.

The higher up the superiors are, the more they behave strange.

Many things rather outdated. Software, hardware, everything.
A ping-pong table in a small room does not cut it.
Dirty floors and walls with stains everywhere.
Dogs in the rooms - not everyone likes them and it's not possible to complain about that because one of the dogs is owned by a superior.
People with allergies not saying a word because it's impossible to discuss this (or rather anything at all) with the related superiors.

Lots of talking but saying nothing.

Females are treated better than males. My personal experience was that for females every excuse was allowed to not keep the schedule, come late to work, or deliver terrible results.

Interessante Aufgaben

They have basically only three products. Neither the industry for which the products are developed for is interesting nor the way these products are developed and tested. Two of these products are over 10 years old and it shows.

I consider almost everyone in the SOFHA team as self-confident enough to address the above complaints directly with me, and actually I have heard some of the critics before from one person only. One member representing 2% of the team will not turn the corporate governance and policies upside down. This is called responsible leadership.
Every opinion and every idea matters, and those suggestions which made a lot of sense to management were picked up and initiated several changes since 2019. Management is open to constructive ideas for further improvements, but those suggestions need to prove that they are good for the whole team, and not only for one person's ego.

Modern code: We have been too successful in delivering products to the market to throw away the code completely with every second or third year starting from scratch. The decision on the risk to take is mostly done by several members in management, and the OEM customer, too, and knowledgeable software architects would know that there are limits if you need to consider providing maintenance services for several years after product shipment as well.

Dirty walls and stains? Mhm, okay, I have heard of more severe issues at work places but I admit that freshly renovated rooms are nice. The last big renovation took place in 2019 so next year we need to do it again.

PCs are always turned on? Admitted! Otherwise the team could not work remotely during the pandemic.

Throwing away paper? We are stakeholders in the digital printing industry, and lots of print jobs actually need to be printed during testing.

Giving advice how to abuse the company's relocation support!? No comment on that one.

We are hiring to back-up the team in dealing with the challenges to come, and the whole team will continue giving support of any kind to our newcomers, as we always did, because we know how important every single member is for the prosperous well being of all. So, be assured that you are very welcomed!

My impression is that someone strongly wants to hurt my feelings, which is a little unfair, but not telling the truth and aggressively harming the whole team is another story, and therefore needs to be addressed.

Good advice is very welcome, constructive criticism, too, but peeing on everyone's shoes when no one watches is not hero-like at all.

Wirklich schwierig, mir fällt nichts ein :-)

Vielleicht wenn möglich eine kleinere Kernzeit, z.B. 11:00 - 15:00 aber auch die Bereitschaft der Belegschaft je nach Projektstand und nötiger Überlappung zwischen Kollegen selber freiwillig wieder überlappender zu Arbeiten.

Wird von der Administration gepflegt und liegt jedem am Herzen.
