Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Top management is actively watching the spirit of engaged and committed employees slowly die. There aren't any engaged communities anymore, it's just business with a frequent threatening reminder that the macro economic situation is bad and people should basically be thankful to have a job. It's also interesting that basically everyone who has left the operations team (and that's a lot), has done so on their own terms but in the product and sales teams, people mostly got laid off (without any feedback or warning beforehand).

Verbesserungsvorschläge

Truly care about the people. Measures such as creating competency groups for dedicated people to come up with solutions to improve morale and collaboration only to then not giving those people the chance to present and implement their ideas- genius! I also loved the fact that people are constantly being let go but there's enough budget for 2 on-site in-person kick-offs incl. hotel over-night stays (for everyone, even the people living in Cologne) and getting a replica of the back to the future car (which looked great on LinkedIn and Instagram)!

Arbeitsatmosphäre

It's bad. Everyone's scared or insecure about losing their job. Whenever a new meeting is called, rumors are kicking off. People work around the clock to prove themselves (but are getting fired in the end anyway).

Kommunikation

Horrible. The company-wide weekly has transitioned from an overall informative and collaborative meeting to total sales show. No cultural input.

Crisis brings people closer I think.

Work-Life-Balance

That one doesn't exist for many. For a few I think it's alright.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

My favorite. Performance reviews were introduced a while back, only to learn that nothing comes of it. I know that a lot of the senior leaders don't even conduct performance reviews but rather let people go without any feedback or warning at all.

Interessante Aufgaben

The workload is huge so there's no time to think outside the box and get creative. People stick with what they know. If you drop a line, such as - "I know this worked for (enter unicorn start up name here)!" - you're golden.
