I like the openness, the CEO is a really great person, who cares about the employees, he is as open and communicative as he can be. I just find Taxdoo a great place to work, of course there are little things, but overall I would recommend Taxdoo. Also you can take your dog to the office, I love going in and getting to spend time with the dogs :)
No bonus, which will be a surprise if you used to getting a Christmas bonus. Limited opportunity for career advancement.
We could have more benefits, there are no bonuses for example. For me however working here really fits for me, I love my team and I enjoy my work. The opportunity for promotions or moving to a higher position are limited, but that is due to the size of the company.
I work mostly remote, and only go to the office occasionally. The working atmosphere for me is perfect. Everyone is so friendly and co-operative. You can really approach most people, and they will be happy to help. All equipment is provided and all suitable for your role. A really lovely atmosphere.
To me Taxdoo is perceived very well. I'm sure there are always people who are not as happy, but the people that I deal with regularly are all very happy with the company.
We work mainly remotely, so work life balance is great. As long as you are upfront if you need some time during the day for a personal appointment or something , this is absolutely ok. Each team will work it out amongst themselves to ensure that there is coverage on the team when someone needs some personal time.
Career prospects can be limited as the company is not large, so you would need to wait for someone to leave a position for it to become available. Education however here is exceptional. I have worked for far larger companies that don't support employees further education to this standard.
Salary is within guidelines for the role and always paid on time. Benefits are as expected, nothing earth shattering but acceptable.
This is hard to answer, as we do work mainly from home. But as a company Taxdoo is environmentally and socially aware to my knowledge .
I can honestly say this is one of the best teams I have ever worked on. Myself and my team mates work so well together, we support each other, and we all want to make a difference.
Everyone here is the same, regardless of age, dealing with all colleagues is mostly a pleasant experience. The workforce here is quite young, however any age will be employed, there is no age discrimination.
Most managers here really do care about their teams, both professionally and in regards to psychological safety. Managers have development training opportunities that focus on the main challenges they are having as leaders, and Taxdoo really care about the leadership team and how they are leading their teams. Of course there is always some people in management that should not be there, but that really is minimal here. My direct manager is so great to work with, and is adaptive to the different members of the team and what they need.
I work mainly from home, and was provided all the equipment I need to perform my job. On the occasions I go into the office, it is always a great experience, and the office is lovely and has all that we need.
Communication is an area most companies need to improve, but Taxdoo really try, and they really listen. Communication is as transparent as possible, I'm sure on some teams it's better than others depending on the leader of that area, but overall communication from senior management is as open as possible and they do make an effort.
I have never had any problems here, we are quite a diverse group, different nationalities and backgrounds.
Like all jobs, I have the day to day stuff that needs to be done. The area that I work in means that each day can look a little different depending on what lands on my table. I am definitely given the opportunity to think outside the box, and come up with new ideas, when the idea seems to fit, we will always try it out. Challenging the status quo is normal here, and you can speak up when you have an idea that you would like to try.
There is definite potential, especially when it comes to the product and the people on the ground.
Taxdoo may work for those who thrive in political, less-professional environments, if you are good in this, apply for a job, you may make a good career.
For those used to professional environments with clear feedback and management structures, this company can be deeply disappointing. The lack of professionalism, especially in leadership, creates a toxic atmosphere. If you’re expecting to work in a place with clear guidelines and professional management, you might find yourself frustrated here. The company has a tendency to favor the "cushy" dynamics, where the right interpersonal relationships can determine your success more than actual performance.
If you’re someone who excels in navigating these toxic, unprofessional environments – mastering the art of forming alliances, outmaneuvering others, and playing the political game – then this company can offer a good career path. However, if you’re focused on genuine work ethic and professional growth, you’ll quickly see that the focus here is less on merit and more on who you know and how well you can play the "game."
There are many potential improvements that could be made, such as reorganizing management systems, reviewing decisions from previous leadership, establishing clear rules, and fostering honest communication. However, based on my years of experience at this company, I’ve come to realize that the issues are deeply ingrained in the structure, and the point of no return has already passed. Therefore, I wouldn’t offer any specific improvement suggestions, as they are neither heard nor implemented. The best thing they can do is make fewer decisions, as every new decision seems worse than the last.
The company is poorly organized, and there’s a constant sense of competition rather than collaboration between departments.
(External) Is very good tbh. So here are no issues at all.
Overall good, completely remote, if you like
If you have the right supporter from higher up, things can go well for you, but without that support, you're left to fend for yourself, with little to no opportunity for growth. There’s a strong sense of favoritism that makes it hard for some people to thrive, and if you speak up, you might find yourself excluded from the team.
Generally, the collaboration among colleagues is good, especially at lower levels, where people are quite supportive of each other. However, if someone believes a colleague doesn’t fit in or needs to go, others often fear being on the wrong side and may betray or leave that person hanging. True solidarity is rare. There are departments where this issue is even more pronounced, and the atmosphere can be much worse.
While there are competent leaders in the company, many others, including some at the C-level, make unprofessional decisions without understanding the real issues at hand (or even "ego"-decisions). The overall management often comes across as self-congratulatory, touting the company as the best and brightest.
Good hard- and software, office is too small with wifi issues :)), but cozy at all
Leadership often makes decisions on the fly, which results in frustration for many employees. Furthermore, the strategies keep changing, leaving people feeling like they’re constantly adapting to something that never sticks. There’s a lot of dissonance between what is said officially and what actually happens, which contributes to a general sense of mistrust within the company.
Additionally, there have been numerous layoffs in the past, often occurring out of the blue with little to no transparent communication. This has created an atmosphere of general insecurity, as employees never know what might happen next. Entire departments have been let go, and several management positions were terminated without any clear or understandable reasons. A lot is kept in the dark, and the communication style is that only good news is shared, while anything negative is simply ignored. While there is an opportunity to ask questions to management, more often than not, these questions are ignored, which feels rather disrespectful.
At the lower levels, the company is sometimes predominantly female, but recently, it feels like almost all key positions are held by men, with no women in sight. Despite this, the overall feeling within the company doesn’t seem to reflect inequality; the atmosphere suggests that everyone is treated equally.
Yes, there are many exciting tasks, particularly in departments that are more IT-oriented. However, in the customer-facing departments, the tasks tend to be more monotonous. It’s important to note, though, that whether you get exciting tasks often depends on how much you're favored by management. If you're a favorite, you'll likely get the more interesting assignments. On the other hand, if you have good ideas but aren’t in favor, you'll find yourself being held back by people who fear losing their key position. These individuals usually don't have original ideas themselves but enjoy playing the role of the "gatekeeper."
Remote first set up but with plenty of opportunities to interact in real life or meet your Team for workshops, events
Fully supported
Unique opportunity to shape your learning path
I love my Team so am biased here :)
Open, direct and frequent
We are leading change in out category so there is no shortage in interesting tasks or new challenges that let you grow
Taxdoo was a great employer I had. The company have always had been really supportive in my career goals, helping in progressions, and giving voice to me.
They also have a good amount of highly talented people in the engineering.
Work is full remote and the salary is kept the same across europe, so for those who live in cheaper countries, it has a great competitive advantage.
- At every few months a completely change of strategy happen, and sounds like Taxdoo do not have a concrete plan.
- The technical part is a complete mess. There are teams taking care of services that no one in the team haas knowledge about the language, or they don't know properly how that part of the product works.
- Many of the decisions in the tech part are not properly discussed.
- On the acquisition of accounting digital, the team that was building the internal accounting product was never consulted, and it has a feeling that over a year of work was thrown away. (The last project that was been build for about 3 months was definitely thrown away because it was never released, and there was 5 engineers working on it full-time).
- In the last feel months I've heard some people got let go with not much of a justification.
- Make engineering team fully autonomous on their decisions
- Though Taxdoo try to be transparent with questions to the management and so on, looks like some of the questions are deflected
- Engineering teams should be truly cross-functional. Putting one team to work just in the backend and other to do the frontend doesn't work.
Absolut empfehlenswert!
I’ve been working as a working student in the IT department and I’m very happy with my experience so far. The tasks I receive are meaningful, varied, and well-suited to my skills and interests.
The work environment is excellent – the atmosphere is relaxed yet professional, and the interaction with colleagues is always friendly and respectful. I feel like a valued part of the team.
Working hours are flexible and easily manageable alongside my studies. The compensation is also very fair for a student position.
Overall, I can highly recommend this company to other students looking for a supportive and engaging work environment in the IT field.
Lieber nichts falsches sagen

Best employer to support everyone needs, very flexible and open to adapt to the new requests.
Private learning opportunities, multiple trainings available internally and externally.
Very fair with stock component and additional benefits on top.
Mostly by senior leaders, middle management not so much.
Since there is a lot of change it means that there are opportunities to expand your role scope. Some will see it as an obstacle, for me it opportunity to work on something new and grow my skillset.
Solid commitment to regular training and progression.
Generous- above market rates.
Working at Taxdoo has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me. From day one, I felt welcomed and supported by a team that genuinely cares about personal development. The company places a strong emphasis on growth, offering numerous opportunities for learning and advancement. Whether it's through internal training sessions, mentorship programs, or access to industry-related resources, I’ve been able to significantly expand my skill set and advance my career.
One of the standout aspects of Taxdoo is its commitment to innovation. The company is constantly evolving, which keeps the work exciting and allows me to contribute to projects that are shaping the future of the industry. Being part of such a dynamic environment has motivated me to continuously push myself and strive for excellence.
Too soon to say.
Communication is an area where the company could make some improvements. While there’s a lot of enthusiasm and ideas flowing through the organization, sometimes the communication channels can feel a bit fragmented. I believe that with more streamlined communication processes, we could collaborate even more effectively and achieve even greater success as a team.
