Loved the team! Very smart, motivated, caring people who give it their all. Unfortunately, the founders created an environment of fear. People try not to involve them because it's likely they get yelled at or ridiculed in front of everyone.

Work-Life-Balance
You get yelled at and made an example of when you don't "finish your stuff". One colleague was singled out in front of the whole company because he didn't put his notes from a customer visit into the system - because he didn't get home before midnight. Others were asked to move their holidays because they caused a bug. 60+ hours / week is no exception.

Awesome people. The negative atmosphere brings the team closer together. Made great friends!

Clear top-down management style, no personal development. There are all these "review" meetings that are essentially just the founders way of saying "you know nothing, let me tell you how it should be done". They tell you to "be efficient" and get things done but then slow you down every step of the way.

There are regular allhands meetings but financials or investor feedback are not shared. The way things are communicated often feels dishonest or exagerated.

Pay is below average, shares are distributed unevenly, even the 27 days off were hard to get

There are definitely favourites and those that are not favourites but I haven't seen discrimination against women or specific groups

It's a very cool problem to work on in general, but there is so much overhead, so much unnecessary documentation, you can't really get anything done in a reasonable time

Let's just say not working in a big office building is a big plus. Not traveling to work everyday is doing its part. And in generel is our product and vision saving a lot of people a lot of time and stress.

Ich habe in meinen vorherigen Unternehmen noch keinen so engen Zusammenhalt erlebt. Jeder steht für den Anderen ein und es gibt überhaupt keine Spannungen zwischen den einzelnen Teams.

Alter spielt keine Rolle, unser Team ist von Anfang 20 bis Mitte 60.

For me it is a really good work life balance. Since the company is set up remote first it gives me great flexibility. I move around a lot and my university schedule changes often, so I am able to decide each week when I want to work.

Interns and working students are getting compensated more than fairly.

Love my coworkers. Everyone is incredibly friendly and open-minded. Even though we are remote first, we manage to be constantly in touch. I do wish we could see each other more in person tho.

I work very closely with the departement head and am feel very lucky to be working for such a hard working woman! She has a lot on her plate but always an open ear for me. Love that I get some real responsibility and get to learn so much.

Listen to your team! People will (and are already) be leaving, if nothing majorly changes. It is not an option to scream at teams if they are not performing as you would like them to. This will not increase motivation by one bit, management needs to understand that.

Within the smaller teams it is generally good but as soon as one has to work together with management it gets really uncomfortable. Overworking is massively glorified and if you are not ready to "go the extra mile" you will have a hard time succeeding here.

Plus: It is a remote-first setup, so people are free to work from anywhere.
Minus: The perceived flexibility is not there, because you can be called / approached pretty much anytime and it is closely watched when you are online and available.

Had all the hardware I needed, so nothing to complain really. A budget for height-adjustable desks e.g. would have been nice.

They try but I don't feel like there was the wish to have transparency. A lot of deep problems are dismissed as being individual issues and feelings of employees are often unvalidated. You feel like you are the problem.

Great team spirit! I felt really welcome from day one and was trusted with meaningful tasks pretty quickly.

It can get pretty busy and not everyone is online during the same time (some start earlier, some work later) so you have to make sure you set boundaries for yourself.

You can approach everyone, no matter the level, with questions and ideas. Sometimes remote communication results in misunderstandings but everyone is really eager to avoid this.

As an intern I had so many different tasks, it definitely never got boring and I learned a lot.
