There is nothing to praise. I am just shocked.

Was macht dein Arbeitgeber im Umgang mit der Corona-Situation nicht gut?

Everything. Laying people off just like that in short video calls. No one could even say goodbye to their team. Also a lot of employees that are still employed fear that they will be the next in the line of getting layed off.

Wie kann dich dein Arbeitgeber im Umgang mit der Corona-Situation noch besser unterstützen?

Wunder layed off a quarter of its employees in one day via short video calls. Very insensitive and disrespectful. The people that have to go through "Kurzarbeit" (for 12 months) also had all their accounts deactivated and work materials were picked up by a delivery company. No communication from Wunder how they will proceed with "Kurzarbeit" - I feel they are hoping that everyone will quit so they don't need to spend more money on them.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

When it comes to the atmosphere within my own teams it was in general ok, very young colleges some more talented than others. I really appreciate it that the employees are quite diverse when it comes to diversity.
In other teams it was more or less quite toxic with people having big egos and making political decisions rather than what is good for the product, the team and the company.

Kommunikation

Again within the team the communication was ok. When it comes to C-Level communication towards the employees... it was a mess. We sometimes even had sessions where employees could ask the C-Level questions anonymously cause it was often not comfortable to ask questions directly. When once someone pointed out something inconvenient they were even threatened to get fired.
When COVID-19 issues reached Wunder hell broke loose.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

As above I would say people on the same level got along quite well but than again when it comes to C-Level or leadership... it should be improved.

Work-Life-Balance

A lot of overtime with no compensation.

Gleichberechtigung

Only a small number of employees are women (under 20%) and it also shows on the payroll of those.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

Besides C-Level there are almost no older (40+) employees.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Unfortunately, salaries vary greatly from person to person, even though they hold the same position and have similar work experience.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 has forced many companies to make difficult decisions that impact their teams, and we were one of them. By taking part in the government's program of Kurzarbeit, we have been able to ensure long-term stability for our company while allowing employees to still receive a percentage of their income to sustain them through this difficult time. This in no way was an easy decision for us and we hope we are in a better position in the near future to bring these team members back.
