Professionelle Recruiter einstellen
I first got in touch with the company in November 2024 and noticed that the role had already been open for several months—and still is. My initial contact with the company was actually back in 2023, but at the time, I accepted another offer and withdrew from the process. After they filled the role for a few months, they reopened the position. This made me wonder whether the hiring process in place truly helps in finding the right candidates.
During this application process, the hiring manager initially responded but then decided to pause because I supposedly did not meet the requirement of living in a single country. I clarified that this was a misunderstanding, but unfortunately, I never received a response despite multiple follow-ups.
Later, I reached out to the Head of HR on LinkedIn. Fortunately, she was very communicative and invited me to continue in the process. Starting in 2025, I had five additional interviews. While I don’t recall all the specific questions, there were no case studies or practical tasks. Instead, the focus was largely on cultural fit, and many of the questions were quite repetitive—mainly about my resume and past experience. That being said, the Head of HR was always proactive in providing feedback after each interview, which I really appreciated.
Eventually, a sixth interview was scheduled, which was supposed to be the final round with the CEO (or a similar role). However, it was later canceled. I was told that they had more candidates in the pipeline and wanted to wait before making a decision. A week later, the Head of HR called to inform me that they had chosen other candidates who were considered stronger and that I was supposedly not motivated enough for the role. I asked for clarification on what specific experience I lacked and how they had determined my level of motivation, but I never received a response. Interestingly, the role remains open.
Overall, my experience with Xentral was positive in many ways. The Head of HR was professional, communicative, and always provided feedback, which I found very respectful and transparent.
However, I’m not sure I would apply again unless I had a lot of extra time to invest. The process felt quite lengthy and, at times, lacked structure. Instead of diving deeper into my technical expertise, many questions were repeated across interviews, making it feel redundant. I also remember being asked whether I was applying simply because I wanted to work remotely in my current country of residence, which made me feel a bit judged. Obviously, there are many remote jobs out there, and I chose Xentral because I loved the company culture and the product. Additionally, the final feedback about lacking experience came unexpectedly and without concrete reasoning.
From what I’ve read from other candidates, it seems that Xentral frequently uses the reasoning of "not being motivated enough" as a way to reject applicants. After such a long process, I think it’s only natural for candidates to question how hiring decisions are made.
I understand that they have many candidates to consider, and the Head of HR did a great job of maintaining communication throughout. That said, there’s definitely room for improvement in the structure of the process.
I genuinely wish them all the best moving forward!
Tell me about your experience? Did you only apply at Xentral, because of being able to work remotely?
Zügigere Rückmeldung.
The interview process was extremely lengthy, involving six interviews, technical assessments, and a home assignment, all of which required a significant investment of time and effort. After reaching the final round, I was informed that another candidate was chosen based on their presentation style rather than any technical misalignment on my part.
The feedback cited communication skills as a deciding factor, which was frustrating given that nerves and excitement naturally affect communication styles during such a high-stakes process.
Additionally, moving multiple strong candidates through such a lengthy process until the very end may not be ideal. With such high expectations on candidates' time and energy, a clearer, more streamlined process might benefit everyone involved. I would have appreciated receiving more targeted feedback and clarity earlier in the process if presentation style was going to be such a central criterion.
So verdient kununu Geld.
