Liberty to work from home, benefits, modern working environment, great connections (infrastructure),
Currently, it does not feel like one is appreciated.
Working for a company with no job security is difficult.
If there is no loyalty from above, how am I supposed to trust them and give everything?
Don't just preach your DNA. Actually stick to it and enable your employees to do so as well. How are we supposed to "Act with integrity" or "Win as a team" if our top-management don't do it?
Within the team it is a truly pleasant environment
I would take the public image Bitpanda presents to the public with a grain of salt. Not everything is as it seems: unlimited holidays, free food, drinks and other benefits; but 270+ people lost their jobs from literally one day to the next.
With the unlimited holidays and the option of working from home the Work-Life-Balance is great. However some people have to stay long when month end rolls up. Now that so many people have been let go, that workload will only increase. Let's see how long the unlimited holidays will last.
The decisions of who is promoted and who aren't is surprising to say the least. Some people can be partly responsible for certain events, yet receive a promotion.
As many others have mentioned: the compensation is below the industry average. Especially for the hours expected from you.
Within teams it is great.
My people manager... amazing. Above that... terrible. No transparency, no respect. They keep preaching their Bitpanda DNA but haven't shown once that they actually believe in it themselves.
The top levels always preach how transparent they are. When people are let go, the people managers only receive a list after the decision who is let go has been made by people that have never even met the person they let go.
I have learned a lot and for that I am truly grateful.
How employees are treated is an important sign of whether or not a company can be successful. At Bitpanda, employees count for nothing. Long working hours, bullying, inexperience, dismissals are sent to veteran employees by mail. Great interviews in the media without substance or real values. Hands off this company, if you want to have a successful career.
I would love to give more stars because people I work with are amazing, but you cannot progress with your work anywhere because if top management does not like it they will just fire you as they did many times in the past.
No comment, just read the news
Good because you do not know what you are good at as they recruited so much at once we were just too numerous with no guidance, team structure or career path. You are just left alone in the middle of the chaos
No career path, no training path. You basically dont know where you are going when joining
Not very well paid, over hours not paid, transports not refunded, but unlimited holidays and quarterly events
From colleagues very good vibes. No real humanity feeling felt in board behavior though
Amazing people
There are no old colleagues, mainly juniors.
They are simply unreachable and not trustworthy. I do not know if I can tell more because there were people who were fired for telling their opinion on LinkedIn.
Very cool services though
No communication besides Townhalls where you would basically hear the CEOs bragging about how good they are and the C level telling you stuff that are totally disconnected
I do not know as there are only about 30% of women in this company and few on top management positions. Btw they fired all women in my team.
For my side yes as I had to build my all scope myself because they removed my manager 2 weeks after I joined giving me no tasks so I created my own interest and was able to reach out to colleagues
The HQ, onboarding, culture
Job uncertainty, not being transparent about decisions.
Sort out your C-Level Management. There are some outstanding enhancements to execute.
Used to be great before mass lay-offs. I used to be very proud of this company.
Get ready to work many overhours.
Was alright, but not amazing.
Unfortunately, there are no measures to help saving the environment. Lunch to go in plastic packaging, no proper food separation, merchandise being sent out in unnecessary large boxes, and energy-wise, no need to explain further...
Within the team, the atmosphere has always been amazing, only with other departments it seems a bit competitive.
There are barely any older colleagues.
Again, direct/ mid-management leaders are great. However, many decisions are made top-down, not always in the best way
Unfortunately the communication is quite intransparent and information gets lost due to a billion of slack channels, jira tickets etc.
Everything was already mentioned. You can't trust them at all. No job security as you can get laid off anytime, not matter how long you have been with the company (3-5 years or longer). They even laid off people, who are pregnant, sick or moved to Vienna with their whole family for their, which is just ridiculous.
Don't make any promises you can't keep -> saying that you were NOT laying off any employees in the near future
Toxic working environment. Expecting people to work 24/7 with no exceptions. Even if you are sick (having cancer treatment etc), you are expected to work and deliver. C-levels asks you to do some extra work during the weekend for no extra pay or any benefits.
On the outside everything looks like the best company every but as soon as you join, you will dispappointed quickly
You are expected to be available 24/7.
Under market average, you will ALWAYS earn way more outside of Bitpanda and they will always try to lowball you with their offer
Colleagues were always nice and supportive. They treated you like a human being compared to those C-levels, who are only looking out for themselves and get more money to enjoy and flex with their expensive lifestyle.
I have never seen any old employees in the company
Teamleads always tried their best to support us but in the end, the upper management aka c-levels has the last word about every single decision.
One week they (someone from upper management) say they are have enough liquidity and don't plan on laying off staff in the near future. A few weeks later 300-400 employee were laid off.
People who are friends with the upper management always get their promotions and pay raises. If you are not one of them, don't expect to get a promotion or a pay raise at all.
Interesting in the beginning but without the option to change departments, it gets boring very quickly
They had lots of money and gave a lot of bonuses.
HR, CEOs, toxic atmosphere, generally crap.
Sort it out. The company started going downhill years ago. Everyone saw it, how did you not?
The people who want to work at Bitpanda are good, cool people. Unfortunately in the last few years - mismanagement and poor hiring has led to a horrible, toxic place to work.
Used to be great but the recent laying off of hundreds of employees after a year of bragging about being rich has ruined all trust.
Says its flexible, but has an American culture of work till you drop. If you don't do that, you're 'not pulling your weight.' We have 40- contracts for a reason, Bitpanda!
They are cutthroat. Will fire hundreds of people in a lunchtime meeting just like that. No career here anymore.
Average, has gone down.
They have a lot of money.
They love telling you how great they are. Despite laying off hundreds of employees one week after saying they would not.
There was cool stuff to work on.
Das öffentliche Image entspricht nicht der Realität
Die interne Kommunikation ist katastrophal.
I like the office and former colleagues that are no more. Home office for me going forward
Maybe reinvest some of the money in something that creates real value instead of hot air. Prevents mass layoffs and grants stability
Long hours of pretending to be busy
Only positive, although some colleagues just try to safe their own jobs more than anything else
Out of any company I've worked for, this may be one of the worst managed one. Since people fear losing their jobs there is also no honest feedback
Cool new office in vienna
You better fit the messaging, then you're good.
As exciting as bitcoin sounds, the job itself is a standard office job
Was a welcome culture and amazing feeling to work for bitpanda - almost a cult and lot of good people around there in an interesting work environment.
All said.
Sticking to the traditional product it came from and reflection on past work and unsystematic hiring is needed. The fish stinks at the head.
The folks are young and partly motivated, lot of things done to keep people happy and motivated (maybe distracting too much from really working)
Was a Peoples company and has been named like it by HR for long time. The mass layoff destroys this image in the long run.
The Colleagues, who a dedicated their time to clear the chaos and steer the company in a right direction, help as much as possible.
Over worked, it able to bring the right decisions on the table - otherwise friendly
Lot of silos and due to over hiring positions nobody know what they are good for. Lot of miscommunication between C-levels and politics slowing down the progress and being the companies well being at risk
Pay is good and whole package with unlimited vacation is unique.
So verdient kununu Geld.
