Modern work environment in an interesting field
Again: Hire and promote who fits, not who's good for statistics.
Hire and promote who fits, not who's good for statistics.
Working on crypto in a time where crypto thrives is obviously cool. The work itself is kinda what you don't expect: just another copy & paste office job with a different packaging.
Think the image is super good. Crumbles if you know how its from inside though
Crypto with its energy consumption just isnt good for the nature. Let's face it. Stop greenwashing here. Still like my job though
Best about the job are the colleagues.
Very young across the board. Not many older people.
Top down. Fake leadership and no credit where credit is due.
Nice new office. Shiny from the outside, not so new from the inside (conservative management).
Top down. Simple as that. For being a modern company people behave like it's 30 or 40 yrs ago.
Saying this as a female but the company doesn't promote men even if they deserve so. I've seen a couple jobs that were served to colleagues just because they're female, even though inside the team others (no matter gender) said it was someone else who deserved the promotion more. Its all about strategic positioning to the outside world that hey, at this company, we got women in leadership roles. I'm just all for whoever fits best gets the job and not you pick if someone has any chance of being decent at the job but first criteria is gender or whatever.
The culture of the organization is amazing. You can feel the good vibes all over the place. Everyone is nice, friendly and helpful.
meeting some very nice people (colleagues on the same level) there
see comments above
Change of Leadership - the rot starts at the top
- in general you can say there is little to no appreciation from management
(having a recharge week if you work 60h a week for months, does not do the effort)
- some of the colleagues are super nice - you'll find them - you're in this together
- long hours always
Weirdly the image is still quite good - even if you can notice that there are already some people/headhunter who recognized whats going on tere.
Ask for the people who had burnout at Bitpanda or even better for those who are at risk.
"Unlimited vacation days" - I love it - nice thought, what a pity that no one mentions here that you don't even "dare" to use up your regular vacation days because you're swamped with work. Of course, this is all due to the team and not to the fact that the roadmap is changed every 2 weeks.
- good for the CV - at least they think like that but in reality it's not; headhunter asking you how the environment is out of curiosity
(seems a lot of people currently working at Bitpanda are looking for a new job)
Mediocre salary; as long as you not do the effort to calculate your salary/hour
Waste separation
- completely depending on the department/team - if you're a lucky one you have some colleagues who brighten up your long days
There are no "older colleagues"
C-Suite is completely incompetent due to lack of leadership experience and blind spots, which they also refuse to work on. You could learn something - but you don't want to - you do everything great anyway :D
That's why they stick to the motto: "Birds of a feather flock together," and instead bring even more narcissistically inclined personalities into management.
However, it has to be said that there is always a pearl to be found in the so-called pigsty - only unfortunately, two pearls alone can't do anything either, next to all the crap.
New office is fancy, but still having a proper work-life balance would be way better
- top down communication and decision making
- conversations at eye level ? - almost non existing, you're just a number
- sexistic "funny" comments on management level are not uncommon
See communication
indeed interesting, since the field they are working in is - not a achievment of the company tho

Kommunikation & Organisation
Pressure and top-down decisions by overworked managers.
All-in contracts and a lot of pressure.
People from other scale-ups are hired to replace existing employees. So there is no need for this.
All-in with mediocre pay; benefits are not worth mentioning.
They pretend to care.
Overall nice colleagues, but especially new joiners mainly want to have Bitpanda on their CV.
There are no older colleagues.
Upper management pretends to know a lot but are actually clueless.
Top-down communication, the opinion of regular employees are not valued.
More show than substance.
Great image but you should never judge a book by its cover
Great - there are a lot of options for making a really good career and
Salary is good unless you are an intern
Don't know about the other departments but the colleagues in HR are the biggest backstabbers ever. You can't trust them, colleagues talk behind your back and also go to your manager to complain about you and tell lies instead of speaking about an issue they have directly with you.
Management just looks for mistakes and ways to put you down- no motivation whatsoever. I had a feedback session for over an hour and in the end, I was completely distraught and in tears because they got very personal (didn't like the way I speak, they didn't like my gaze, didn't like the way I sit, etc). They are very unreasonable and are very happy to attack your personal qualities as mentioned above, no constructive criticism whatsoever
Communication is absolutely terrible - people get annoyed when you ask them questions, on the other hand, if you do it on your own and you do some mistakes they will criticize you for it big time. So basically, there is no real onboarding, you don't get things explained and if you make mistakes get ready to hear it in of their wonderful 360° feedbacks.
There are many interesting tasks you can do and also as an intern you don't do just the "typical" stuff but you get to do advanced stuff as well
Fast paced environment
Young team
Smart people

Die C-level communicating less and less when the company grows larger, there is a growing gap between executives and the smaller employees
Have a direct line for complaints to HR and C-level.

So verdient kununu Geld.
