Senior Director, Translational Medicine China

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to lead the Translational Medicine and Development Sciences Teams in China for Roche. This role oversees clinical development projects in China and the Asia Pacific region, managing a team of researchers and scientists to develop and execute biomarker, CDx, and translational research strategies across multiple therapeutic areas including Oncology, Neuroscience, and Immunology.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and collaborate globally with Translational Medicine and Development Sciences leadership.
• Provide scientific leadership and drive China biomarker strategies, data analysis, and interpretation.
• Participate in Roche leadership activities and contribute to biomarker regulatory strategies for China/APAC.
• Develop and lead biomarker collaborations with key investigators and thought leaders.
• Provide strategic oversight of Development Sciences activities in China, including bioanalytical sciences and clinical pharmacology.
• Lead educational activities to improve companion diagnostic assessments and translational research capabilities.
• Drive organizational growth plans and manage external vendor and institutional collaborations.

Requirements

• PhD, MD, or PhD/MD degree in a relevant biological discipline.
• At least 12 years of experience in the biotech/pharma industry with expertise in technologies, biomarkers, and team leadership.
• Proven ability to build, develop, and retain effective teams.
• Experience in drug development, including work with vendors and CROs in China, and familiarity with local regulatory and government policies.
• Strong understanding of diagnostic product development.
• Outstanding presentation, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to distill complex issues.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
