Business Analyst, - Tieto Banktech - Financial Crime Prevention

We are looking for a Business Analyst who wants to be part of Tieto Banktech. Tieto Banktech powers some of the Nordics’ most trusted banking systems with secure, reliable, and scalable solutions. Using automation, data, AI, and cloud, supported by hands-on guidance, we help banks modernize their core, strengthen trust, and deliver greater impact across the banking experience.

Are you passionate about creating sustainable and groundbreaking customer experiences, curious about product development, and eager to join one of the largest technology companies in the Nordic region?

We are seeking a Business Analyst with a strategic and analytical mindset, along with a keen eye for detail and structure, to join our team in the Financial Crime Prevention (FCP) business unit Identity at Tieto in Bergen.

FCP delivers a comprehensive set of services covering identity, fraud prevention, and anti-money laundering (AML) to prevent criminal activities in the financial sector and enable customers to comply with regulations, standards, and internal risk assessments.

When joining Tieto Banktech as a Business Analyst

As a Business Analyst, you will turn customer, business, regulatory, and operational needs into clear, testable, and traceable requirements. You will connect the problem space with product and engineering decisions, helping our teams understand what needs to be solved, why it matters, and how we will know the solution meets the need.

You will work in autonomous, cross-functional teams supporting services across identity, fraud prevention, and anti-money laundering. Depending on the product area, this may include Identity Proofing, authentication, and electronic signing. In close collaboration with customers, Product Managers, Product Owners, UX, Engineering, QA, project managers, and other stakeholders, you will clarify needs, improve processes, assess solution options, and prepare decision-ready requirements.

This is an opportunity to influence solutions used in a highly regulated industry where quality, security, privacy, and regulatory compliance are essential. You will work in both Norwegian and English and play an important role from early discovery and analysis through validation and continuous improvement after release.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit and analyse customer, user, business, regulatory, and operational needs, identifying root causes rather than assuming solutions.
  • Map current and target processes, customer journeys, business rules, data needs, pain points, and improvement opportunities.
  • Document clear, testable, and traceable business and non-functional requirements that are understood by both business and technology teams.
  • Support the decomposition of Features into Stories, acceptance criteria, business scenarios, and other implementation-ready input.
  • Assess solution options, constraints, dependencies, impacts, and risks, and communicate trade-offs clearly to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops, refinements, and decision preparation to create shared understanding across customers, product, and engineering.
  • Support test design and user acceptance testing, verify delivered behaviour against requirements, and identify gaps and improvements after release.

Who we are looking for:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, finance, information systems, or another relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.

Skills and Experience

  • 2 - 3 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role involving requirements, process analysis, or product development.
  • Proven ability to structure complex needs into clear requirements, business rules, process descriptions, and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and clarify ambiguity.
  • Excellent facilitation, stakeholder-management, and communication skills across business and technology audiences.
  • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively in autonomous, cross-functional teams.
  • Fluency in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken.

We also believe you have:

  • Experience with agile product development, Scrum, or SAFe is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of financial services, financial crime prevention, identity verification, authentication, electronic signing, security, or regulatory requirements is an advantage.

We offer

We offer you professional growth, meaningful projects, open culture and an outstanding work-life balance! We offer you an opportunity to create the future of a growing, fast-developing and important sector. We believe that our organizational culture is an important part of enabling you to be successful. We provide a flexible hybrid work model as part of our culture and way of working. Finally, we also believe in curiosity and learning as a lifestyle where you need to unlearn and relearn every day as new possibilities emerge.

Did we get you inspired?
