I would like to see stronger impact of industry trends in our company: digitalization, agile methods, design thinking etc.

Dynamic working environment - the speed of decisions, delivery etc. needed at times is rather typical of the automotive supplier business.
Kommunikation
Bi-annual communication from US to the global organization, regular virtual Townhall Meetings in Europe, weekly Townhall Meetings with all colleagues in Langen about recent/future developments, events, special projects etc. Top Leadership is always present and invites questions on any topics ("open mic" concept).
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Strong collaboration with and mutual support from practically all colleagues, both in Langen, across Europe and in the US. I particularly enjoy working with a mixture of colleagues new to AAM and colleagues who have worked for the organization for 15 years or more - a valuable mixture of perspectives and a good pre-requisite for innovation.
Work-Life-Balance
Workload can be demanding, but deadlines are generally fair and AAM encourages a high level of autonomy to manage the workload on a personal level and focus on priorities.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
There are some excellent leaders in the organization who, due to their high level of personal competence, would be an asset to any company. There are, however, some differences between leadership styles - both within Europe and in general contrast with the US.
Interessante Aufgaben
Mixture of daily business and a significant number of challenging developmental and transformational projects. A great deal of enablement to implement improvements, some rather cumbersome processes here and there which could be rationalized.
Gleichberechtigung
My circle of colleagues draws from all continents as well as from our local region in Hessen - a winning mixture of cultures and backgrounds. I anticipate more events in future to better network with each other - the company has grown during the pandemic and some colleagues are still not particularly familiar with each other. We need to catch up on team building and integrate the workforce better.

Arbeitsbedingungen
The building in Langen was inaugurated in autumn 2020, so basically everything is new and done to modern standards. There is plenty of space for meetings, breakout sessions and workshops.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
The building is certified to LEED environmental standards. Alongside a generous number of standard parking spaces there are also charging stations for electric vehicles and bays for motorbikes and bicycles. Public transport is just over 5 minutes' walk away.

AAM has established a good product reputation within the industry - and has an excellent quality focus, but is still unknown as an employer of choice - undeservedly.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
A great deal of options on offer, from self-directed learning to traditional seminars and classroom training in face-to-face format. There are increasing number of dialog sessions with Top Management.
