Really bad place if you want to learn something
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
- No trust
- only one person working in HR, who always sided with management. And in the end even they left the company because if it isn’t the leadership way, it’s no way
- High expectations but very little in return
- They prefer for their employees to quit instead of offering a higher promotion that would match their colleagues’, and then either hire an intern
- Discrepancy between salaries in the same positions, some starting with 36k, others 43k - and no willingness to standardise this
- No constructive feedback
Verbesserungsvorschläge
- Less setting rules for individual employees under condition “this needs to stay between us”
- Hiring actually experienced managers
- Less micro-management
- Actually having some strategy instead of hiring an intern or a junior manager to launch an entire market or project without any prior research and blindly spending money with an attitude of “let’s hope it goes well”.
- Less “that was nice” from head-of’s when describing team performance. Some specifics or actual takeaways would be useful.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
The atmosphere is tense. Management claims that as Bears with Benefits is a start-up and small company you have a chance to directly influence its growth and shape its future. However, you have nothing to say. You’ll be praised if your manager likes you but ignored if you’re not chosen. It feels like “Mean Girls”: fake smiles from management to appear nice but talking behind everyone’s back is very common practice.
Image
They like to appear as female-empowering brand but in reality it looks very different behind closed door.
Work-Life-Balance
Despite advertising flexible working hours, there’s no real work-life balance. Even starting early and finishing at 16:00 means you’ll still get urgent messages at 17:00 expecting urgent information easily accessible to the manager. They don’t believe in any employee rights. CEO complains about “team spirit” and expects employees to be in the office until 18:00 during peak season. She even compares the company to McKinsey, claiming long hours are the norm. Sadly, McKinsey and PwC employees start at double if not higher salary compared to BwB.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Zero career progression opportunities unless your ambition is to be a team lead of 1 person team, or a head-of of a 5 person team (with salary of junior manager somewhere else). Empty titles with even emptier experience of the so called management. You can tell the managers have no experience managing people as this is for most of them their first job out of university.
Gehalt/Benefits
Very low salary, the promotion is 800-1000€ a year from mid-senior or junior-mid position.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
No initiatives nor information.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
The only positive aspect of working there are the colleagues. While people try, there’s a lot of gossip.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
No older colleagues, due the fact people do not want to stay there, and they keep hiring interns to cut costs.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Poor to tragic. Favorism at its finest. If you speak up, you’re fired or treated in a way that you quit yourself. Then they don’t even communicate you left, or say it was a “mutual” decision.
Arbeitsbedingungen
The old office was nice but very cramped, there’s a new office from May 2026.
Kommunikation
Open communication is non-existent in the company. Perhaps they simply don’t understand it. Information is always selective; they share only what they want and hide anything uncomfortable to discuss.
Gleichberechtigung
This company is predominantly female-led with a majority of its employees being women.
Interessante Aufgaben
Not many.
