The Spirit is gone
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Teamwork, Flexible Work, remote first
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Management's plans, ideas, and statements have nothing to do with day-to-day operations.
A terrible HR policy: Key players are (apparently) being pushed out of the company on a whim, and the resulting wave of resignations is being completely underestimated.
There is no longer a Demicon spirit.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
First and foremost: Restore respect for employees. This is the only way this company can avoid becoming completely soulless.
Next: Communicate a clear vision. Not just on AI slides, but in the reality of the workplace.
Honesty: C-level executives must stand by their decisions and communicate them transparently. Furthermore, the workforce should know how the company is doing.
Transparency: Don’t just celebrate new hires; also communicate departures. Learning about them only through the grapevine further damages the internal image.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
has suffered greatly in recent months. In my opinion, the main reason for this is a series of questionable HR decisions and general C-level decisions. Both have led to many good colleagues leaving the company, with more set to follow, and a sense of “quiet quitting” now prevails among the rest of the workforce. As a result, the company’s former spirit has been completely lost, and (with few exceptions) people are now just doing the bare minimum. On top of that, the once-positive work environment is now marked by mistrust: what should I even say to whom anymore? What could be interpreted negatively? Most things are now handled in writing or at least documented so that, if the worst comes to the worst, one has proof of what was said.
Image
was very good, but has suffered significantly in recent months. Customers have always valued demicon and its employees as a reliable, innovative, and high-performing partner, which allowed the company to stand out clearly from the competition. Due to the departure of numerous key players mentioned earlier, this is now only true to a limited extent
Work-Life-Balance
The remote-first approach works very well; there's nothing to complain about here
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Neither the personal nor the professional development of employees seems to play a significant role anymore. The company only promotes development if it is relevant to a project.
Although there is a training budget for each team, it is so small that at most two or three people can participate in meaningful training.
If “career” means taking on more responsibility, that’s not a problem here. Anyone who says “yes” to new tasks often enough noticeably rises in management’s estimation.
Gehalt/Benefits
The salary is good, provided you negotiate your starting salary well. There is virtually no salary growth after that: you’re put off indefinitely, and if you ask for a discussion, flimsy performance goals are set—and even then, a raise isn’t guaranteed. Other benefits are minimal (Urban Sports Club, company pension plan). In my opinion, what weighs particularly heavily here is that about a year ago, all future on-site company events were canceled
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
Business trips should be taken by train whenever possible; apart from that, I don't see any further efforts in that direction
Kollegenzusammenhalt
really good, and thats what keeps the company together below the C-level. The teams are tight-knit units that support one another and are always there to listen.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
I didn't notice anything negative here either
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Room for improvement. I rarely felt that managers were truly committed to their employees; rather, it seemed they were just filling the position to pad their CVs. C-level executives have completely lost touch with the workforce and the realities of their work.
Arbeitsbedingungen
You can choose your equipment based on your preferences, and it is provided by the company. This includes not only a laptop and cell phone, but also home office equipment
Kommunikation
Although the importance of transparent communication is frequently emphasized—especially in turbulent times—most information is obtained through the grapevine rather than through official channels. While criticism from the workforce is heard, it is not addressed, which results in fewer and fewer people contributing to an active corporate culture.
Gleichberechtigung
The C-level, in particular, is male-dominated, but other than that, I’m not aware of any negative aspects
Interessante Aufgaben
Assigned tasks are usually based on available capacity, rather than on skill sets, and certainly not on employees interests. Resources are simply shuffled from project to project without consulting the person involved.
