Honesty is valued. Genuine interest in the company is valued. Self-interest, depending on how it is sold is thankfully genuinely frowned upon. Team players are wanted, mistakes are accepted, it is clear that there is a learning process, especially if there is something new to try.
The cooking, the facility is positive, the attitude of those that work here is, for the most part positive. The team-work, the inter-departmental communication is encouraged and supported. Constructive feedback is valued, and important decisions are discussed. These are values that are rare, honestly, they are rare, and even if its not always sunny here, for the most part, they are damn near guaranteed here!
The negative things here, are, essentially, the negative things that I bring myself. Sometimes I question my sanity, sometimes I question whether the stress or the input is worth it. To be honest, some leadership could do with a bit more backbone, some leadership is misguided - but these are minor issues. If I would hold a mirror to myself, I have to be careful not to hold myself to a self-expectation I myself cannot uphold, and despite the sometimes negativism of the leadership of other departments, I cannot help but wonder if they themselves put too much pressure on themselves to justify being where they are. The same goes for those not in leadership positions, some really do try too hard, some dedicate too much time, some work way too hard. Maybe its because they feel it is worth it - but if there is a fault here at the company is that sometimes, rarely, a brake is not put in place to make sure that the general healthy lifestyle is not maintained. Lastly, maybe the most negative thing in the company, is the feeling of expectations that are being vocalized that do not exist, do in fact, exist - the so called unspoken expectation of perfection even though the spoken one is not.
Communication - even if this is a public vendor, this has also been communicated internally. The company values opinion, even if some think otherwise - yet a voice can only be heard if it is used. Using public forums to voice discontent is one way of doing something. Is it right? I will be honest, I do not know, nor am I qualified to judge. In my experience, whether in a management position or even before, if I have an opinion, whether it was agreed upon or not, if it is justifiable, it will be dealt with in a way that is transparent and fair. Is it always transparent that I have this option? No. Does it always need to be that way? No! Do we need to be a little bit more or a hard line in some situations? Yes! It is a learning experience, and for every fault in this company I personally, after all my years, can certainly find more positive than negative experiences - and that says more for the company, those that work here and everything that it does, that we do, than anything else I know!
Work enviroment is usually a personal preference. At the end of the day, the enviroment is as good as you make it. Why is this not 5 Stars? Simple; Some work together and others prefer to intoxicate - yet those that intent to work together are in the vast majority and lets be honest, it would be a pretty boring work place if there was not at least one black sheep. Anything else would just be unrealistic.
From our customers, in genuine surveys to the attitude of those that work here, "the customer is king". Its in Germany a rare thing - I can say this with a level of confidence, independent of Diamant Software (since this is a personal opinion). The gals and guys here are vested in the interest of our customers all the way up to arguments with management on how to best support the customer. Yes, financials are an issue, but compared to going all the way to make sure a customer is not only happy with us, but also trusts us, is rare yet genuine here. We would not be here without them and we know this, that is why we value their opinion, their feedback and their requirements. Not for media, not for recognition, but for trust and partnership.
Mixed back this one - and I will be honest, I am NOT the model citizen here. If there is work to be done I will do it. If it goes beyond the call of duty, I will do it. On the other hand, it HAS to be said - this company genuinly tries to keep an eye on the fact that if there is a Work-Life-Balance issue, it will be addressed with the interest of those that work here at heart, as long as the expectations are realistic and earth bound. This is important, since (even though I am in a Management position - my job dictates objectivity) - it is in the eye of the beholder and a certain self management as well as self discipline is pretty much a key factor. Why then a 3 Star rating - it is not actively discouraged - which, like any other company, free work, is free work. So, understandable.
Another mixed bag. To be honest, the company does not discourage it - yet, nor does it encourage it. In some departments its an unspoken fact that Career development is in the hands of those that work here. Sometimes its a leadership issue, sometimes its the issue of those that work here. Fact, however, is that Diamant Software is working hard to make this more transparent and to provide opportunities to look over the rim of the plate. Its currently a work in progress and in my humble opinion serves as the weakest factor of the company. Am I affected by it? No - do I try to make sure my Team makes and takes the time to get educated, yes, do they use it? Not always, but that.... is another issue.
Its an area that in the past has been rather weak - but is really being worked at. It also has to be said - money for me personally is not the primary motivation for coming here every day. Sure I would like more, who does not, but primarily it is the people and the work that motivates me, and that is why for me personally, it will never be 5 stars, because work is more than just a paycheck at the end of the month.
Although not always easy, and certainly not always measurable, this company and its employers do work towards enviromentalism as well as a healthy lifestyle while also providing public services aimed not at "media attention" but because there are people here that genuinely believe that our benefit should be shared. I know, it sounds and reads like marketing BS - but seriously, the amount of thought, effort that is put into painting rooms for a school, doing the gardening for a kindergarten, the amount of effort that goes into "girls day" including planning and resources from multiple departments is staggering. Its not just because it is the right thing to do - its something that those that have the time genuinly want to do, from the cleaning lady to the highest company management level, including CEO level management.
Obviously this is highly specific to the area of profession that ones condones too. My experience is, that no matter what common goal, or uncommon goal, if you are honest, if you are open than this company and those that work within it have a high regard for one another. Even if it is not always spoken, even if it is not always lamented into some form of speech, writing or feedback, the value of the individual at this company, and the value of the team, is held at a much higher regard than most previous companies that I have had the pleasure of experiencing.
One word - respectful. Even if it is contrary to a previous post of someone stating that this is not the case, experience is valued at the company. It is clear, that knowledge does not always need to be "up to date" - because being intelligent requires knowledge of specific themes - yet experience is being smart about something. There is a reason this company has lasted for 39 years - each year being better than the past, because it leans on experience, smart decisions. While not always quick in its decision making, it is smart in its decision making. Am I influenced by those that have since retired - yes - but I am thankful, and proud of that, because without those experiences, and the willingness to share those, we would certainly not be in the position that we are now. We value those that have built this company, as we value those that precede the legacy of those either no longer among us, or those that are in a well deserved retirement - this company understands that we are the sum of those that work and have worked for and with us.
I have been lucky, that for the majority of my time here, from my humble beginning to my current situation, bar one exception, has been exemplary. My "commanders" have been honest, sincere and forthcoming. Why? Because I have always made sure that I was and am honst, sincere and forthcoming. As I am in a "commanding" position myself, or at a position of authority, it is the value of "honesty, openness and consequential action" - core values of the company - that i try to live by for my "boss" as well as my team!
Objective opinion - obviously, since I am part of the team that provides the work enviroment. We are up-to-date, don't follow every tech trend but try to keep the goal in mind by providing flexible, state-of-the-art tools for a state-of-the-art environment.
Communication is what comes to the receiving end is what my mentor has taught me. How you present yourself, and how you communicate is entirely your own decision. What is important, and, is a genuine and honest thing at this company is the fact that if your have constructive criticism, no matter what form it takes, is taken seriously and is taken into account. It may not always be the outcome that one expects, but the vast majority is a vesting interest in the well-being of those that work here.
There are very few companies that have as many women as Diamant Software. Seriously, I think (I don't have the stats) we are at a very healthy 50% of both "classic" sexes. Background info, I personally do not care if you are male, female or diverse, I care that the right person is doing the right job and I am more than happy to think, and assume, that this is also the opinion of the company. It does not matter what you might classify yourself at, at Diamant Software , all are genuinely equally valued.
Oh hell yea! It is hard to put into context the type of challenges that one faces in this area. It is also extremely hard to explain how open to change the company can be, when the right arguments are made. The influence that an individual can have, based on either mundane or extreme complex tasks is exhilarating. Not only that, every day is a new challenge, every day brings new expectations and new directions. Certainly in our Teams (we have 3 specialized IT Departments) there is not a dull day when it comes to possibilities. Sure, there are the boring routine tasks, yet those pale to the project work and the influence the IT department as a whole can have. This way of thinking does not just translate to the IT department, the posibility is genuinly offered to every person that works here!
Innerhalb unseres Bereichs top.
Konnte bisher keine Probleme feststellen.
- Super IT- Ausstattung
So verdient kununu Geld.
