Great diversity, colleagues have the best minds and skills. Great WFH policy. Communication like All-hands, over Slack is good, and the team is taking great effort to address this aspect.
False assurances of salary adjustments, work life balance - everyone is overworked.
Look up to a collective group vision, making transition to EVs affordable. Focusing on just profit would leave Elli nowhere in the space. If Elli stays afloat financial for quite a time, it will be one of the leading player in EV industry (Prioritize customer first). While senior managers get trainings on leadership, they have little to no empathy for the employees. You can verify this by floating a survey to review if managers micromanage employees, work-life balance.
Just check for Google reviews, products are always crashing. Company just focusing on profitablity and little customer perspective. VW Group story says it's hard time to sell EVs and Elli keeps on raising prices for it's products.
Almost everyone from employees is over-worked & stressed. Managers take no effort in resolving it. They accelerated lately due to reduced head count and same projects to be run by less number of people.
Little effort on focusing on employees career goals.
Colleagues are best in class, very helpful, supportive!
Managers pressurize people who work the most. Micromanaging is a norm here!
Work from home is the biggest reason for which people stay.
Great ethnic diversity, leadership takes great effort in maintaining it. Language is English as well, so most of the colleagues start from the common ground.
For someone who is passionate about e-mobility, this is a great start for the entering into the industry.
High energy, high trust, high standards – Elli is where you go if you want to make a difference.
Starting a new job always comes with a mix of excitement and uncertainty – will it live up to your expectations? At Elli, it absolutely does. From day one, I felt genuinely welcomed and appreciated by everyone I met.
What really stood out to me was the onboarding: it’s not just a bunch of PDFs and links. HR puts real effort into personal coaching – from tech setup to company culture. Even senior leadership takes the time to share knowledge and help you get up to speed, which says a lot about the mindset here.
Leaders are visible, approachable, and open to ideas. You're not just allowed to contribute – it's expected. If you’re motivated, curious, and ready to learn and build, this place can be a real playground.
The international spirit hits you right away – English is the company language, the teams are diverse, the vibe is open, collaborative, and supportive. At the same time, there's a clear drive for performance. It’s soft in tone, but ambitious in expectations. People are passionate, pragmatic, and dedicated to pushing things forward. There’s little room for standing still – and that’s a good thing.
It's one of the few companies out there that still allows you do do remote work. Working in the office is not mandatory.
Several problems that I cannot expose here to keep mine and other's anonymity.
Improve the communication in the hiring process. Everyone is told during the negotiations that you get a bonus of 2 full salaries a year. That bonus is actually taken into consideration to reach your salary expectation, so you want X and they say with 14 salaries you achieve X. But in reality, at least for 2024, people didn't get their 2 extra salaries (it was less), because company didn't achieve their goals. I heard this complaint from several colleagues. You need to communicate your candidates properly.
EDIT: @HR, yes I believe the sick leave culture is not what you want to reinforce, that is not interesting for any employer. But the company is 100% passive about it. We have several employees literally multiplying their vacations days. They don't even inform what sickness they have, they only mention they are feeling under the hood and ciao cacao. Are you keeping track of those people? If you do, you'll find out a list of people that are often sick, and a list of people that are never sick. Is that normal? Not even elder people are sick that often. This is completely demotivating and unfair.
There are two groups of employees: the ones that joined before 2023 which are upset with their undervaluation and those that joined after 2023, which are happy with their salaries. You work with several motivated and several unmotivated people. The salary topic is very recurrent. Elli is there to prove that the only way to earn more is to switch jobs.
Per observation work-life seems awesome, whenever you feel like having half or a full day off you can simply eg.: bring your kids to the doctor, have doctor appointments, have any kind of appointment anywhere, get sick, you just inform your colleagues, and nobody will ask anything. I've never seem this kind of freedom in any other company before. If you don't have kids and appointments here and there, get ready to work for you and for the others. (I hope you did notice the irony in this comment)
As stated before, if you decide to join now you'll probably get competitive salaries. If you've joined a couple years ago, you are earning expressively less then the others.
It's hard to keep up with the sick day/sick week culture. Your colleagues have learnt that it's easy to double their vacation days by having multiple sick days and sick weeks very, VERY often. If you are a healthy person get ready to work for you and for the others. Sadly there's nothing the company can do about it, as far as I know.
Superiors usually have none or little autonomy to decide or change anything, they are basically bringing the issue to their superiors and the cycle repeats.
According to my experience whenever you need some information you have to try hard to get it, push your managers, and most of the times you won't have a concrete answer because no one knows or can't do anything.
The first week of onboarding was not very clear and communicative from Hr, manager and colleagues were great tho.
Alles was darüber liegt ist.... naja
Viel bla-bla...
Jeden Tag spannende Aufgaben und immer was neues. Tolle Produkte.
Work atmosphere is great and worth 5 stars in my location !!! But each office has developed its own sub-culture and microcosm which could lead to fragmentation.
We have the flexibility to adjust our working hours around other obligations. In addition to this, Elli offers different leave alternatives such as sabbaticals, and in 2024 mobile work from most EU countries was introduced.
Afaik HR is working on it.
My manager is exceptional and leads by example.
In progress, but top leadership still falls short in reflecting gender equality and it would be interesting to analyze the pay gap as well.
Because of the very nature of our business, work is super exciting!
Nothing I can mention so far.
- Lack of opportunities.
- There are many processes.
- Lack of long-term goals.
- There are more VPs than departments.
- Create a plan for what the company needs.
- Don't hire people just for the sake of internalization.
Employers are extremely unhappy and feel underpaid, which creates a toxic work environment. Despite promises of raises, they never happened.
Company Image is favorable as this company is part of the VW Group, even though they do not offer any valuable products to the end customer yet.
The company wants to change the world, by providing e-mobility services to customers.
Degreed is a joke, there is 0 chance you will grow in your career.
Only on specific cases.
almost all older colleagues are underpaid
In my case, my manager was supportive, but his mindset was completely different from the company's vision, which created some difficulties.
This is one of the weirds company I have ever worked,
I have no idea what the company is doing, whenever I go to a company meeting, I feel I am just not part of the company.
As I said before some people are underpaid
There are no any interesting tasks, just extremely boring and manual tasks to deal with.
Nothing .
Nothing , i will never recommend this company to anyone .
Take things seriously and come out of your ego . some things happened with me which was not first time , it happened with other colleagues as well . But HR will just sleep and never talk to you.
They have very uncomfortable atmosphere . Here manager mentality is that we have to put all pressure in Probation and check performance from day one because after probation it is very difficult to remove someone from the company (because of work council).
They have no idea how a team works .Mostly managers are immature .
UPDATE : Don't fall into trap of overall review because HR send one task in onboarding in Personio for hiring process only and people filled it after joining with 4 or 5 star .
Very bad image if just google the reviews of Elli wallbox.
You can imagine that you have to justify every minute you have spend
a very few team have good colleagues else mostly you will see the rudeness and no empathy and diversity(in thoughts) within team.
Manager are just delegates to cover up. Manager (almost all) are very immature and don't know how to handle the team and don't respect the personal responsibilities. First they will not welcome you instead they will ask you all the questions so that there neck will be safe . I have never seen these kind of managers. People join the team because of a good leader.
Elli also know about it so what they do is that they outsourced the hiring and then after joining you will find the worst manager in your life.
HR will never talk to you once you joined
In the name of salary they will mentally break you
Not much , pretty much small code logic and if-else
So verdient kununu Geld.
