I have really enjoyed my time here and having team members around the world creates such a great and diverse environment. I feel supported, listened to, and encouraged to share my ideas. My Team Lead is kind, always available, and open to hearing different thoughts and suggestions, which I really appreciate.
There is a lot of work to do, but I enjoy being involved in different projects and helping put things into place. Even when I am unsure of a process or what to focus on because there is so much going on, I still feel supported and know that I can ask questions.
The teamwork at EQS is really impressive and something that has really impressed me. People are willing to help each other, share knowledge, and work together. It genuinely feels like everyone is here to support one another and that we are all working towards the same goal.
The company is growing quickly, and it's exciting to be part of that journey. As teams continue to evolve, continuing to develop process documentation and practical guidance alongside existing roadmaps would help make it even easier for employees to turn ideas into action.
Very flexible working hours with a strong focus on output rather than strict schedules.
High workload, repetitive work, and constant communication that doesn’t always create clarity. Limited transparency in promotions and salary, and leadership that can feel detached with high expectations but limited support. Strong external image, but internal processes and product maturity don’t really keep up.
Increase transparency, centralize documentation, and manage workload more sustainably. Strengthen leadership capabilities, reintroduce training opportunities, and better align external image with internal reality while addressing sustainability in the AI strategy.
Depending on the department. The company places a strong emphasis on results in customer-facing roles. Transparency and addressing process issues can occasionally be at odds with this focus and are not always reflected positively in promotion decisions.
Internally, there is a perception of high workload and ongoing product challenges, with some offerings seen as not fully mature despite “enterprise-ready” positioning. Feedback and improvement requests are not always addressed promptly.
Externally, the company presents a very polished image, while feedback within the compliance network suggests a more mixed picture.
Work-life balance benefits from a high level of flexibility. You can largely organize your working hours yourself as long as the work gets done, and remote work is standard for non-Munich employees. Mandatory meetings require attendance, but beyond that there is flexibility in daily scheduling. This is balanced by a consistently high workload.
Training opportunities have decreased over time. Earlier initiatives, including LinkedIn Learning, are no longer available. At present, development largely depends on applying for open internal positions.
Salary and raises seem to depend heavily on the team and leadership. Even longterm strong performers with high workloads have to push persistently for salary adjustments.
Environmental initiatives seem to have taken a back seat to an “AI-first” strategy. While employees are encouraged to heavily use AI tools and build new use cases, the environmental implications of this increased usage are not clearly addressed, nor are there visible compensation efforts.
The general team atmosphere is friendly and helpful. Nevertheless, there is a degree of behind-the-scenes communication, and advancement often seems linked to how closely employees align/sympathise with leadership.
Leadership behavior differs across departments but is often perceived as somewhat superficial. In some cases, there is limited product understanding at management level, while expectations for the team remain high. Escalation support tends to be minimal, leaving employees to resolve challenges largely independently.
In addition, the tone in internal communication can be unprofessional at times, depending in the person, including the use of inappropriate language in Recorded meetings and salary discussions.
The only office in Germany is the Munich HQ. Although it is modern in parts, many employees work in open-plan offices with suboptimal acoustics and ventilation. Kitchen facilities on each floor are a clear plus.
Communication is extensive, with numerous Teams channels and frequent rollout updates via email. At the same time, leadership consistently promotes the use of AI across most work activities. Despite the high volume of information, it can still be difficult to stay fully up to date, as documentation is often scattered across Teams chats and local download folders.
While there are many product modules to learn, the high workload often limits the opportunity to fully engage with them. Work in customer-facing departments is largely repetitive and involves managing a high number of tasks in parallel.
Always something to improve
There are a few team/company events around the year.
Management is not that transparent as they claim to be. And team leaders should be chosen among younger people who can really empathize.
Poor communication from management
Can get stressful at times, but there is certainly the option to balance it out.
EQS could offer more options and possibilities for trainings.
EQS could engage a bit more in contributing something to society, other than their product - which is mainly for companies anyways.
Love the EQS team spirit - everyone is always friendly, supportive and very approachable. You can always have laugh at the coffee machine or have an after-work beer with everyone.
I'm very happy with my supervisor, I feel supported and listened to, no matter the topic.
Leadership could / should be way more diverse than it is now.
- my team was great and I strongly believe they can achieve great things outside of this company where there efforts would be better acknowledged and rewarded.
- Poor communication from top management
- lack of trust from top management is easily the biggest red flag here.
- poor salary increments
- no career development plans
- values are nothing but words on a paper. You keep hearing
To summarize, top management is what is holding this company back because time and again they've shown that
Learn to care about your employees.
Appreciate them when they do a good job instead of putting them down. For a company with more than 600 employees,
There's a clear lack of trust from top management down. Audits are carried out without relevant employees or subject matter experts being consulted or involved.
I've been asked to listen to a new senior hire just because of the fancy names on his CV. All this creates a pretty poor atmosphere to work and develop and can really effect ones self-confidence.
I believe there's a disconnect with how employees perceive the company vs top management.
For example, top management will pat themselves in the back on how great their decision to layoff 10% of the headcount was vs how employees talk about how poorly managed it all was.
So I think top management is massively out of touch with the ground reality.
-1 star because of the inflexibility around the no holiday carry over policy which could be good depending on an individuals situations.
I'm not from the EU which means that I can't go spend time with my family and work remotely from there. This means that most of my annual holidays are gone by Jan/Feb which is usually when I can go home.
So, if you're going to constantly boast about how employees are from all over the world, then make the effort to be slightly accommodative towards their needs.
No career development plans. I was with the company for nearly 3 years and not once this topic was brought up in any of my review calls. I don't blame my reporting manager because no career development plans exist.
Sure there are quarterly reviews, etc. but these are rather superficial with no real outcome.
The company would rather spend up to a year trying to hire someone external for a role rather than make the effort to either train or promote an employee. This is very demoralizing.
Personally, I believe my starting salary was more than competitive but then the annual salary hikes are very poor and don't really match an individuals performance.
Also the difference in salary between team members is just unfair. I know colleagues who work as hard as anyone and are getting paid peanuts.
So definitely the focus dropped off after the new investors came on board.
Still I believe colleagues play their part. But then it doesn't really matter if top management is flying across Europe or cross-Atlantic on a regular basis.
Despite everything, cohesion amongst colleagues remains strong in my opinion.
Once upon a time there were plans for a new Berlin office. From 2024, this was completely cancelled and all Berlin employees were given home office contracts or a very poor offer to move to Munich.
Since then, no efforts have really been made to provide a working space option for the colleagues based in Berlin. Sure, an offer was made to provide the necessary equipment for a comfortable home office setup but most people had this since home office wasn't really a topic from 2024 but before that.
There have been attempts to improve communication in terms of introducing Barcamps, Town halls etc. but still, communication from top management remains poor.
Salary inequality is a big problem.
Within a team, there are cases of colleagues on the same seniority level earning far less than others despite being in the same location.
I’m really happy to have joined EQS Group. The onboarding was super clear and everything was well documented, which made settling in really easy. Managers are reactive, supportive, and truly listen to you. It’s a great place to work if you’re looking for a structured but friendly environment where you feel heard and appreciated!
One thing that could be even better: having more casual internal events and team activities.
Transparency and trust in the management are key pillars of the culture, creating an environment where everyone can thrive. The teams are highly skilled, and there is a strong sense of cohesion and partnership across departments. It is truly a pleasure to work in such a collaborative and supportive atmosphere
Depends. Sometimes there’s a lot of work, and it’s easy to end up staying late. You have to set your own boundaries - no one will do it for you
People are not too competitive with each other, the culture is open. It is typically really easy to talk to new people and get what you need for projects/topics.
The Board is fair and openminded. But some managers in some departments can be cliquish.
The Munich office is awesome. It has windows all around, a super cool lounge, and a nice terrace for enjoying lunch outside. I'd love to see some more upgrades like more standing desks.
There are fun parties/events throughout the year
Free beverages in the lounge
So verdient kununu Geld.
