Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

You can evolve quickly if you are proactive and independent. You can enjoy some freedom and start doing your thing.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

The environment is very static and frustrating. It is difficult to find the resolve and work there for anything more than 2 years.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

Do not be afraid of facing who you are: your limits in methodology, your weak commercial local strategy, your unfair salaries and the general lack of transparency and trust between colleagues. Start by changing the Managers (that apparently never leave the company or get asked to leave) do some benchmarking and bring some change!

Arbeitsatmosphäre

The working environment is a bit odd. You feel observed and it is hard to really focus on important tasks. The open-space office is modern and well located but It is difficult to feel comfortable while working in the office. Home office is allowed 2-3 days per week.

Kommunikation

There are regular meetings and quarterly updates coming also from the headquarters. However nothing really changes in the end and you feel a bit left on your own with the business challenges still to be faced.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Depends on the team and the people you are working with. Some are supportive or at least they are trying (applies also globally) others prefer to do their own thing.

Work-Life-Balance

Depends on the role, your ambition and how you manage your daily job. If you are well organized, you can achieve a very good balance.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Most of them are easy going and they will give you freedom and flexibility, but do not expect real support because in most cases they are not as competent as they should be especially when it comes to sales or managing of the clients.

Interessante Aufgaben

At the beginning, there is a lot to learn and if you work in the right business space there is some knowledge you can get as well from the clients. After a while though, you realize the company is not innovative, they are using the same approach and research methodology (for way too many years). It means everything becomes repetitive and superficial. This leads to poor client-engagements and it is hard to generate business in these conditions.

Gleichberechtigung

This is the biggest pain point.
The salary structure is not transparent. It is not fair since you have people who are older, more experienced and with much more challenging clients getting less than others more junior than them. It looks like if you are lucky and join at the right moment you can get better conditions than the ones that started from the very beginning. Also the targets are in most cases completely unrealistic and without the right territory and leads (in some industries EMI is well positioned in others you have absolutely no chance) you cannot count on getting a decent commission. This also affects Promotions and your career perspective in the company

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

If you are older than 35 years old, there are very few people older than you (even at the global level). Therefore this is not really an issue.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Again it depends on your line manager and the sales territory you cover. For some it can be pretty manageable for others it can become extremely frustrating and it is almost impossible to meet the expectations.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

There are a lot of CSR Initiatives and you can also take up to 2 days off to participate to these events.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

At the beginning the basic salaries were pretty basic and under industry-average. Some people joining later got better conditions. The commission can be good but it all depends on what territory or business space you get assigned. Your skills do very little to change that. They adjust your salary each year according to inflation which is a good thing and should not be taken for granted.

Image

Internationally they are well known and considering that people that left the company are most of the time the most skilled and confident ones, this pushes Euromonitor reputation in the industry. In Germany they are still not so well known and the team is not as well trained and developed as in the main offices (UK & US).

Karriere/Weiterbildung

In Germany there are limited possibilities. You can only advance if you start with right territory or clients otherwise you are lost. Since the company does not really evolve and the Managers are mainly too young and/or not really that skilled, they never leave, it means no chance for you to step-up.
The only possibility is to leave for another bigger office around the world.
