Stop messing around and stick to a strategy. The constant changes and restructuring are to nobody's advantage.
The atmosphere is chaotic - strategies change every few months, people are left stressed and confused.
External perception is still good, not a bad brand to have on your CV.
Working hours are long and often difficult to combine with family duties; mandatory work-from-office on three fixed days per week; ever fewer days for remote work.
Use this as a jumping board, don't expect to stay here for long.
Considering the actual hours you'll be working, the hourly wage is lower than at other places in Berlin.
Most colleagues are great, but recent successive waves of redundancies are taking their toll.
Older colleagues or those with "difficult" family schedules are generally at a disadvantage compared to younger new hires.
Senior leadership is not up to the task of running a firm this complex. Most recent management hires do not match with the company culture.
Long hours, loud office, and an expectance to be available anytime.
Data and insights are shared sparingly, and only of it suits the C-suite, making it difficult to anticipate the future course of the company.
The company prefers to hire external candidates than train internal ones.
The lack of support staff makes it difficult to focus on key tasks. Senior leadership believes AI agents are the future, but in reality building, testing, training and maintaining these agents drains your available time.
So so. They force people to be present in the office on the same days - not enough workspace, for get about flexibility.
Not much. You can still be working when you're sick, of course not required publicly because it's illegal - but you will feel the pressure to do so.
None in my department - management appears to discourage collaboration and relies on fear-based tactics to maintain control.
HORRIBLE, nothing else to add.
Unprofessional and disrespectful, if you're unlucky (50/50).
Down-level hiring - many of you will be assigned tasks that fall below your skill set. Limited meaningful professional growth and career development.
It's a non-trival and scam company with its business, vision, internal culture and imcompetent management. At the beginning it feels like you are greatly welcomed, supported and valued with warm words and sweetd. But by the time, management's superficiality and incompetence both in operations and people management reveals out. Unnecessary weekly check-ins and intransparent communication which makes you less focused on the actual tasks.Overall company culture is light and incompetent, feels you work at coffee shop or call centre.
3-2 policy, not bad
From all kinds of LGBT, hippie, tattoo, piercing style, unprofessional employees. A very few smart and competent employees. Some people including "leaders" literally come there to kill time by chit-chat and hovering around the office, coming very late and leaving early, zero discipline. No quality work delivered, some processes are wrong or outdated, not complete.
What level could be the incompetent management's communication? Unvisionary, unsupportive, basically Head and Directors are disconnected from the teams. Top-down communication and double standards towards employees. Most of the Team Leads, Heads even Director level has insufficient competency for their domain and leadership. Narrow-minded people who only thinks in limited perspectives, energy and time drain for structured, intelligent people.
Some interestings taks depending on the portfolio
The company could offer more vacation days like typical German companies do (30 days)
We get significantly less days which feels off considering what the company is about. It would be great for our benefits to reflect the company.
Great atmosphere. My team is amazing and we have a great rapport.
My lead has very open communication which makes the environment positive
Only food opportunities.
Serious communication problems, workload, respect and dignity issues, impatient, insincere, and unprofessional manner, and supervisors who know nothing about their job, who make you feel bad because you are more successful and smarter than they are, and who see you as a threat.
The future onboarding and offboarding processes at GetYourGuide can be handled more constructively and humanely. I firmly believe that with a more patient and supportive approach, talented individuals can be better integrated into the team, and offboarding can be conducted in a way that respects the dignity of all involved.
The atmosphere is very stressful some people want to see even your computer screen.
The size of the complex where the workplace is located affects you at first. Then you start not being able to utilize any of the opportunities offered to you because of the excessive workload, so the image doesn't mean anything.
You will be overworked and underpaid.
You will be underpaid.
One of their new values is team collaboration, which is the main lack of this company! It is clear why they are trying to adopt this as a company value because they don't have any.
I have never seen an old worker at the workplace. There is no such thing.
I was deeply disappointed by the unprofessional and impatient manner. The supervisor's level of knowledge about his field was low, why would they make someone a supervisor who had no previous experience in this field? The fact that I was in a lower position and had more knowledge bothered him and he started to explain why he did not have a master's degree, even though I did not ask him. The best example of an inferiority complex and misogyny.
The lack of clarity and specific feedback regarding communication issues left me deeply disappointed! A bunch of people who think they are good at communication but they are not good at it.
They make you feel inferior because you are not native in English.
I enjoyed AI-based tasks.
You are beyond saving
Come to work three days a week. You can tell most people don't want to be there.
Long hours to keep up with the ridiculous workload that isn't properly compensated
White guys helping white guys to the top
You will be underpaid and overworked, that is my only guarantee.
PETA silently protested outside of the gate and GYG people made fun of them. I found it distasteful.
On the lower levels it's fine, as you get into team lead, management, and upper management they are a gaggle of backstabbing goofs.
It's almost as if they wrote their master thesis on how to be a horrible boss. Zero stars.
Been at get your guide so long I forgot good communication exists. Offer feedback to management at your own peril.
Yes. People of all colors and creeds suffering together.
Nothing. They are beyond fixing.
Extremely chaotic environment. No one knows what they are doing. No proper communication between managers, product team and engineering.
Lack of funding. Company has not turned a profit even after 13 years. Really bad image. They charge close to 3 times regular price of tickets.
Scamming both investors and customers.
Really limited. Not a great place to start your career.
Probably the worst. Feedbacks and performance reviews cannot be trusted. Hire and fire culture. You might be appreciated and let go the next day.
Absolutely bad. Tasks are not properly thought of. No clear vision on what the management wants.
Salaries not competitive.
Tasks are becoming limited recently owing the age of the company. No proper planning on future projects before hiring, so you might end up on the wrong team with stagnant and monotonous tasks.
Be transparent and don't lie to people. If you say that the feedback is positive don't suddenly change your mind 5 months in.
Also let your employees ask questions and provide clear answers and don't just dismiss them.
Also don't change the rules every few weeks.
At first the company seems great until you begin to see all the chaos. The company still has lots to figure out and even though it is advertised that you can be the one to influence where the ship is going it is not so. The hire ups decide everything and leave you in the dark. Things change almost every week, you are expected to keep up and not ask too many questions.
It's fine. Didn't really like the friday pizza and how it would feel mandatory. There are other things I would rather be doing on a Friday.
I had great colleagues but terrible bosses which made all the colleagues leave.
You cannot trust anyone here. You cannot rely on the feedback you are given and you cannot know what people really think of you.
Communication is not clear. You never know what to expect tomorrow.
The company is diverse.
There are lots of assignments I have been given and all of them were interesting. The problem was that later I realized that I have been made to do work that 2-4 people should have been doing. So yeah, you gotta be a fast learning and a go-getter.
So verdient kununu Geld.
