Take relevant experience into account, instead of having the same tests regardless of the field for which you are hiring.
Make sure ALL interviewers are fair and motivated to do an interview.
Bewerbungsfragen
- Google does not care about you, your personality, or your experience - all that matters is passing the screening and on-site "interviews", which are really exams.
- Even if you and the interviewer are both German, the interviews will be in English.
- Google does not care about your previous professional experience. For the engineering role, they do ask about how you would deal with typical team/management situations. What is strange is that they do not do a dialog, but ask a question, wait for your reply, ask if you are done or want to add anything, then take notes and go on to the next question.
- Coding and system design interviews - look up examples on youtube, those are pretty realistic. Do not even apply if you cannot spend several weeks preparing for that particular kind of interview - I spent 100 hours in preparation, and it was not too much. Even if you are a really good developer and architect, you WILL need to study how to answer the specific kind of problems google likes to ask. The difficulty can vary a lot between interviews, depending on the topic, and which directions the interviewer wants you to go - often the hard part is guessing how deep the interviewer wants you to go into which part of the problem.
