Mehrfachbewertung

Zwischen Micromanagement, Chaos und Angstkultur

Mehrfachbewertung

Infosys ranks among the top international IT service providers and has already arrived in the future with AI.

5,0
Empfohlen

Current professional preparation for working with AI as a colleague, a tool, and a customer product. As well as the points already described above. And I feel a genuine sense of pride in being able to work for this company.

Regarding the full star rating, I would like to add that—depending on the situation and overall satisfaction—this wasn't always the case, nor might it always be in the future.

There were process errors or occasional issues with applications following an update that put a bit of a strain on my daily work routine from time to time, or general situations where communication and coordination needed improvement, and so on.

But right now, I am genuinely satisfied and looking forward to the new world of AI :-)

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

The points described above also apply here.
Additionally, while it is possible to list one's skills, experience, and certifications within one's internal profile, the question remains as to how much impact this actually has on one's career.
But again: A great deal is changing right now due to AI, virtually everything, in fact. It is a game-changer on par with the steam engine, the railway, the automobile, the computer, and the internet; it is transforming our entire society.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

I think that better guidance and support regarding professional development—whether in a leadership or technical capacity, would have been (or still would be) helpful.
However, given that AI and robotics are set to significantly transform the entire working world in the very near future, this is no longer quite as relevant.

From now on, both employers and employees must increasingly shift their focus toward this new era.

To quote the movie *Knight and Day* starring Tom Cruise: "With me... without me! With me!"
Without me!
Or to put it another way: Either you learn to live and work with AI and humanoid robots... or you’re left with nothing but a tent in the woods...

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Depending on the situation discussions can certainly be matter-of-fact, yet the tone and general manner of interaction remain consistently polite and friendly.

Image

I can’t say much about the company’s image, as I don’t have any information on that. In any case, I have never heard or read anything negative about it, either privately or publicly.
I know from former colleagues at another company, where we also provide IT services, that the transition was a huge adjustment, at least initially. It involved shifting from a completely German-speaking environment with in-house IT to an international, English-speaking one. Naturally, people weren't exactly thrilled about the restructuring process as a whole. But after a period of adjustment, that tends to settle down.

Work-Life-Balance

In my area, or rather, within our team, we work shifts: one week of day shifts followed by a week of late/night shifts, with two days off in between. We also accumulate flex days from working night shifts. Sometimes my body clock handles it well, and sometimes it doesn't. However, it has generally been possible to take a day or two off on short notice whenever needed. Naturally, this applies to planned vacation time as well as to doctor's appointments or urgent, important matters.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

In many traditional large German corporations, it is common practice and often expected, for employees to pursue professional development, either by deepening their technical expertise or by advancing into a leadership role.
Since the focus in my area is on customer support, opportunities primarily center on technical skill development and, where appropriate, advancement to a higher job level with greater responsibility.
However, the rise of AI and its application both in customer-facing scenarios and within the company itself, is set to fundamentally transform the nature of work in the near future, shifting the role toward working alongside AI as a colleague or acting as its developer and trainer.

In principle, you can pursue further training at any time via the internal company portal as well as through specialized external portals, currently with a very strong focus on AI.

Gehalt/Benefits

Since I don’t know what others earn, I can only say: generally speaking, I feel well paid. But there’s always room for more, of course ;-)

I recall a study finding that, beyond a certain point, more money led to neither better performance nor higher satisfaction, meaning a sort of saturation point was reached.

If your life goal involves a villa, a Porsche, a sailing yacht, and so on... well, then you’re underpaid here (just as you likely would be almost anywhere else) ;-)

Given rising inflation and rents, plus the fact that fuel, food, and everything else have become more expensive, I felt there had been a lack of compensation for this until now. Of course, this isn't a public-sector employer with annual pay-scale adjustments, but there have been and still are raises every few years, as well as general bonus payments.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

I can only say the same thing about that: when working from home, it’s up to you ;-)
Since so much is handled electronically and little paper is required, it seems to me that a great deal has been gained.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

We respect one another and treat each other with appreciation. While there are mandatory training sessions on this topic from time to time, they aren't strictly necessary. Everyone makes mistakes or has a bad day, leading to perhaps a quieter demeanor or briefer interactions, but there has never been any instance of disrespect among us.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

At nearly 50, I’d count myself among the older ones ;-)
Most people are younger, or even significantly younger. I don’t feel disadvantaged in any way.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Depending on the individual’s personality, the tone may be more or less friendly or matter-of-fact, and the demeanor, influenced by the situation, may range from relaxed to tense. The goal is customer satisfaction; it is about time, money, SLAs, and service delivery. We are professionals, and we are compensated accordingly. While there are certainly relaxed, quiet moments when no one is saddled with extra work, the expectation remains that, when the need arises, we deliver 120% - not to save the world or lives, but to demonstrate that appreciation, trust, and responsibility truly matter.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Since I work 100% remotely, I’d say it depends on your personal living style ;-) But the offices are also very attractive and modern. The work equipment is modern and works perfectly. And if something does go wrong, in-house support is there to help :-)

Kommunikation

Since I work 100% remotely within a virtual global team, communication is primarily limited to email and Teams chat - meaning it is mostly written. However, regular meetings do take place where we interact more directly.

Given that we work together very effectively and our managers are seasoned professionals, an on-site setup, while more personal, would not be strictly necessary.

As Infosys is headquartered in India and operates globally, English is the language used for both spoken and written communication.

Gleichberechtigung

It is definitely put into practice. We have many women on the team, including in leadership roles.

Interessante Aufgaben

The work in my area, involving Tandem/HP NonStop systems and the production IT environment, is certainly never dull; initially, it required a very long and intensive onboarding period. However, after a few years, there isn't really much new to learn. Unless one wishes to specialize much more intensively in certain areas or assume leadership roles.
That is currently changing due to AI. We were required to complete various mandatory training courses, which are definitely important and helpful, or will soon become so, but there are also many other courses available that we can take voluntarily if interested. We receive a certificate for all of these courses as well.
