DATA ENGINEER (DBT)

We are looking for a Data Engineer to be part of our Nestlé Nespresso Digital and Tech Team. At Nespresso, our Digital & Tech teams are at the heart of our innovation journey, a space where we continue to invest, evolve, and grow.

The Role:

As a Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining highly scalable data management systems that enable Nespresso’s data-driven decision-making. You will integrate diverse data sources into a unified platform, ensuring data accessibility, reliability, and compliance with security standards. This role requires strong collaboration with data architects, modelers, and cross-functional teams to deliver robust data solutions that support advanced analytics, personalization, and marketing automation across global markets.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Design, construct, install, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines and management systems.
  • Develop and optimize data pipelines using modern orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, ADF).
  • Develop and maintain data warehouse transformations using dbt and modern data warehousing techniques such as dimensional modeling, incremental processing.
  • Collaborate with data architects and IT teams to translate complex requirements into detailed designs.
  • Ensure compliance with internal security and regulatory standards across all data processes.
  • Integrate new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures.
  • Create custom software components and analytics applications to support business intelligence needs.
  • Monitor pipeline stability and performance, implementing remediation plans when necessary.
  • Provide data-access tools and visualization capabilities for non-technical users.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering or data-intensive development roles.
  • Expertise in SQL, Python, and experience with CI/CD processes and Git.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, and containerized solutions (Docker).
  • Hands-on experience with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow and dbt.
  • Solid understanding of data science concepts, ML frameworks, and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark).
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver projects within deadlines.

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

  • Experience with streaming data processes and real-time analytics (Kafka, Flink).
  • Focus on performance optimization, cost monitoring.
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI preferred) and data visualization.
  • Familiarity with marketing, eCommerce, and media data sources and their use cases.
