At home24, we aren't just selling furniture; we are engineering the future of how home and living data is handled across Europe. Together with our partner retailers in the GIGA purchasing group, we have built GIGA ONE from scratch: a new platform where suppliers onboard their product data once and all member retailers take it over. The platform goes live in January 2027.

Now we are adding the AI layer. We are looking for a hands-on Senior/Staff AI Engineer who turns our AI use cases into production services: agents that read supplier data in any format, check product data and documents automatically and help buyers find the right products. You will be our dedicated AI engineer, build this foundation in Go and work in direct proximity to our product and data governance team.

Activities

• Build AI services in Go: Design and implement the backend services behind our agents, for example our AI data consistency check, document checks and an upload agent that turns supplier files into structured data.
• Own the agent foundation: Set up the shared building blocks for all AI use cases, from model access and prompt management to vector search and monitoring of quality, cost and latency.
• Make quality measurable: Build test data sets and evaluations together with the business team and decide based on data what goes live.
• Full-Lifecycle Ownership: Take end-to-end responsibility for your work, from concept and RFC to implementation, testing, rollout and monitoring.
• APIs for our front ends: Provide clean, efficient APIs for the front ends our team builds with AI-assisted development.
• Modern Tooling: As a proficient AI user, you work with tools like Claude Code or Codex every day and focus your time on the hard problems.
• Quality & Mentorship: Write clean, testable code and share your knowledge with the engineering team through code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Requirements

• Experienced Engineer: You have 8+ years of professional software development, with a focus on backend services and APIs.
• Go Specialist: You have 4+ years of professional experience with Go (Golang) in production backend systems within the last five years.
• Complex System Builder: You have built and operated scalable services and APIs for complex applications.
• Quality Mindset: You write clean, testable code and want to make quality measurable, also for AI results.
• Infrastructure Savvy: You are comfortable with cloud-based infrastructure (ideally Azure) and IaC.
• Pragmatic: You use a simple rule where it does the job and AI where it adds value, and you explain trade-offs to non-engineers.
• Team-player: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
• A plus: first experience with LLM APIs or AI agents, Python for prototypes, evaluations or document processing, TypeScript, or experience with product data, PIM systems or e-commerce.

Team

You will become part of a dynamic “startup-within-corporate” unit at home24. We are a high-impact team of around ten people in product, data governance and engineering. We built GIGA ONE entirely from the ground up and now take it live with the first retailers of the GIGA group.
