Senior Performance Marketing Manager (DACH), 18-month fixed-term

Personio's intelligent HR platform helps small and medium-sized organizations unlock the power of people by making complicated, time-consuming tasks simple and efficient. Our team of 1,500 Personios is building user-friendly products that delight our 15,000+ customers and their 1.5 million employees. Ready to make an impact from day one?

This role requires 3 days per week in office attendance, from either our Berlin or Munich offices.

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Performance Marketing Manager to lead performance marketing in DACH on an 18-month fixed-term basis. You’ll take on the strategic and day-to-day running of our paid search and paid social channels, at a moment when the team is rebuilding how performance marketing works with AI and automation and putting creative testing at the centre of how we generate pipeline.

You’ll be expected to own and scale DACH pipeline from paid channels, make the budget calls on where to scale and where to cut, and decide which new channels and creative bets deserve a real test. You’ll run the collaboration with our agency and freelance partners to keep campaigns running cleanly, and work closely with highly ambitious colleagues across marketing, including regional marketing, so that every campaign holds together from conception to execution. You’ll have access to state-of-the-art AI and automation tools, and the space to learn and test with them every day.

Your role

  • Run DACH paid search and paid social: You run LinkedIn, Meta, Google, Bing and ChatGPT Ads in DACH, from budget and forecast to pipeline and Accepted Pipeline targets.

  • Drive creative testing: You run a structured testing roadmap, form a clear point of view on which creative works, and brief designers and freelancers to match.

  • Connect regional marketing and paid: You work closely with regional marketing on account-based marketing and regional campaigns, so that a campaign idea reaches paid media in one flow, from brief to launch.

  • Run agency and freelance partnerships: You brief them, set priorities and review their output against targets.

  • Test early: You design and read tests, including lift and incrementality tests, you move early on new channels and formats such as ChatGPT Ads, and you scale what proves itself.

  • Report and forecast: You prepare the monthly performance review for DACH, forecast against targets and turn the numbers into decisions.

  • Work with state-of-the-art AI: You work with state-of-the-art AI and automation tools and have dedicated time to learn and experiment with them, and you share what works with the team.

About you

  • 4+ years in performance marketing with a track record you can show in numbers. Motivation and eagerness to learn count more to us than years of tenure.

  • German and English at C1 level or above, written and spoken.

  • Hands-on channel experience in paid social (LinkedIn, Meta) and paid search (Google, Bing) ideally experience managing 6-7 figure monthly ad spends.

  • Creative testing experience and a clear point of view on what makes an ad work. You don’t need to design yourself, but you know how to brief and work closely with designers.

  • Experience in a fast-changing, high-growth environment, where priorities shift and you stay structured.

  • Analytical judgement: you read funnel data, attribution and forecasts, and you turn them into budget decisions.

  • Self-driven ownership: you take a result from idea to outcome without needing close guidance.

  • Close collaboration: you work well with agency and freelance partners and explain trade-offs in plain words to Sales and regional marketing.

  • Excitement for where the industry is heading: you know current developments such as GEO, AI and automation, and ideally you already use AI tools in your marketing work.

  • B2B experience is an advantage.
