Vorgesetztenverhalten

Einwandfrei

Arbeitsbedingungen

Modernes IT-Setup (Wahl zwischen Lenovo & Mac), großes Office mit allem was man braucht

Gutes Start-Up - Ich kann hier viel bewegen

Gehalt/Benefits

Für ein Start-Up sehr gut - Mein Gehalt ist angemessen, letztes Jahr gab es Gehaltserhöhungen, hybrides Arbeiten möglich, EGYM, betriebliche Altersvorsorge, Work abroad... nichts zu meckern

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Gleichberechtigung

I was told: in the beginning it was unbelievable good.
Now:
- Leadership lacks transparency
- managers don´t (or rarely) support their teams
- you work in fear not to be canceled
- you can feel the pressure of investors: a lot of terminations without a reason

Work-Life-Balance

- when work is done, its easy
- overtime is normal

Karriere/Weiterbildung

There is a "clear plan", but its only written.

Gehalt/Benefits

Salary is low. When you are with the company for some years its super low and they dont change it

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Horrible! As they shift every manager role to US, they fly all the time just for beeing in the other office for 3 days.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

really depends on the department, but mine was super bad:
- americanized leadership! hire and fire (new managers have to perform and change everything)
- canceled/postponed meetings almost every week
- if you are not "loud", he doesn´t see you
- not supportive

Arbeitsbedingungen

Too many people changes, to many leadership/manager changes, so its hard improve things

Kommunikation

- between team members its super nice
- managers (depends on the department) always cancel your meetings, don´t tell you their vision and fire you without a negative feedback before
- always talk about company values, but absolutely don´t live them

Gleichberechtigung

Nothing happened to me, but heard a few things

People Team

We are sorry to read that your experience was negative. We take critical feedback on leadership, communication and the employee experience seriously. We offer various channels and structured formats for transparent communication, and feedback like this shows us where they may need refining. Our aim is to enable participation and continuous improvement across all teams. Thank you for your feedback.

Mehrfachbewertung

- Bring back leaders people look up to
- Lead with respect, not with fear
- German leadership style instead
- Live values that actually matter instead of putting some on the walls that people don't feel/care about
- Fight the root causes, not the Kununu reviews
- Add more people to cope with the work, instead of telling people 'there's always more work than we can do' - you stress people out otherwise
- Try to keep long-term employees to keep at least a little MP spirit from 2024 and before

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Leadership creates an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty. There is little trust between management and employees, and communication is mostly top-down with no room for feedback (of course they say the company always has an open ear, but one part of the team is just afraid, and the other part doesn't seem to care anymore).
Instead of former Live question feedback options via Slido, we were told that they appreciate 'talking face to face' adressing all kinds of stuff, and leaders apparently thought we would buy it or not understand what's actually going on.

Leadership lacks transparency and consistency. Decisions are often arbitrary, and favoritism is clearly noticeable. Managers rarely support their teams and tend to shift blame instead of taking responsibility.

It seems that investors force change with more and more leaders exchanged that then exchange people below them. It used to be 1 team around here, but now everyone's just fighting for their own.
Normal 'workers' are living in fear. Talk behind the scenes is super critical, many seem to be looking for another employer by now.

Image

The company's image is damaged by constant negative press and unfulfilled promises — it feels untrustworthy and outdated. On LinkedIn and Kununu, internal Marketing is being performed to make up for the massive people rotation. Once working here, you see that posts about value months and what not, plus the suspiciously positive Kununu ratings are just empty phrases.
Negative, but honest feedbacks like my Kununu rating here are tried to be shut down, as the company keeps on challenging parts of it and making Kununu take it ofline. Apparently that is how the image is being approached nowadays, instead of cureing what actually is leading to bad reviews and people feeling worse week by week.

Work-Life-Balance

Work-life balance is practically non-existent. Overtime is normal. Taking time off is of course 'totally fine, as long as the work gets done by someone else' - but every teammate themself is overloaded already.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

There is a small budget, but no time to use it or a clear career path.

Gehalt/Benefits

Salary is below industry standards, at least for people being here for a bit longer. Benefits are minimal, and there is little recognition for extra effort or achievements.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Leaders fly over the whole continent regularely and don't care - but hey, we're donating bottle caps.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Colleagues are still somewhat supportive and try to make the best out of a difficult environment. However, high turnover and low morale make it hard to build stable working relationships. Cynicism spreads fast.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

No issues with elder people, but the people being around for years are not treated equally in terms of salary or respect.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Feels like americanized leadership by now. Forced rotation of the people below leadership, to show they are 'acting in challenging times' (One leader even mentioned in front of everybody that 'there's an unwritten rule that new leaders have to show change' - well, thanks!) instead of keeping good employees and improving their skillsets(the few ones that want to stay). Most leaders are in USA and do not feel connected to the base at all.

Arbeitsbedingungen

The tools and processes are outdated, which makes daily work unnecessarily inefficient. There is little progress in improving the work environment, and with every new leader the focus shifts again. Only smaller innovation was reached the past months/years, which is sad for a so called 'scale-up'.

Kommunikation

Internal communication is poor. Important information is either shared too late or not at all, which creates confusion and unnecessary stress. There is no culture of open dialogue anymore. Rumors fill communication voids.

Instead, they try internal marketing with value months etc, that nobody seemes to care about.

Gleichberechtigung

Nothing I can prove, but I heard bad things. I guess the affected people were not brave enough to go to HR.

Motivated People, Systematically Let Down

The strongest aspect of the experience has been the relationships built within immediate teams. Colleagues are generally supportive of one another and there is a genuine sense of camaraderie at that level. Working hours are flexible, and taking vacation is uncomplicated and accessible. These bright spots, however, are largely the result of the people rather than the organization itself."

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Almost every structural aspect of the organization is in need of serious attention. Trust is virtually nonexistent, with a top-down culture that pays lip service to openness while consistently doing the opposite. Communication is poor and at times irresponsible — employees have been left in unnecessary distress due to careless handling of sensitive announcements. Compensation is below market rate, inequitable, and non-transparent, with no meaningful bonus structure and promotions that frequently come without any salary adjustment. Career development lacks a genuine roadmap for growth, favoring relationships over performance. Environmental and social responsibility efforts are superficial, and working conditions — particularly for remote and contract workers — reflect a cost-cutting mentality rather than genuine care for employees.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

Stop using the word transparency — it has lost all meaning in this context and its continued use only highlights the gap between rhetoric and reality. Address the compensation inequity between long-standing employees and new hires openly and fairly, rather than discouraging people from discussing it. Take responsibility for your teams' work and make their contributions visible to the organization. If layoffs are necessary, handle the communication with basic decency and respect for the people affected. Invest genuinely in employee development rather than replacing meaningful growth opportunities with checkbox HR training. The talent and motivation exist within the workforce — the current leadership approach is what is systematically dismantling it.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

While the atmosphere within individual teams can be collegial and supportive, this varies significantly across the organization. On a broader level, the work environment is characterized by constant stress and a persistent sense of urgency that rarely lets up. New employees tend to start with genuine enthusiasm, but motivation quickly fades when initiatives and ideas are repeatedly dismissed. Over time, many colleagues settle into a disengaged autopilot mode, and a general cynicism becomes the norm. Despite messaging from leadership about open communication and idea-sharing, decision-making remains firmly top-down in practice, which undermines any real sense of trust. In my experience, I did not feel safe raising concerns or ideas without fear of dismissal or negative consequences — a sentiment I observed to be widely shared among colleagues.

Work-Life-Balance

Overtime is common and widespread, yet employees are explicitly told it will not be compensated. This is reinforced by management behavior, where constant availability and immediate responses are implicitly expected and modeled from the top down. On a more positive note, working hours are fairly flexible and taking vacation is generally straightforward without significant pushback. However, a recently introduced work-abroad policy leaves much to be desired. Marketed as a benefit for international employees, it requires staff to personally cover parts of the cost of a mandatory safety evaluation, and limits remote work abroad to just 10 days per year — a policy that feels more restrictive than beneficial.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Environmental and social responsibility efforts appear to be largely performative. The most visible sustainability initiative is a bottle-cap collection program, which feels tokenistic given the broader context. Meanwhile, senior leadership regularly flies between international offices for reasons that could reasonably be handled remotely. The overall impression is that sustainability is used as a PR tool rather than a genuine organizational value.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

While a formal career progression framework exists on paper, in practice it serves more as a tool to justify why promotions should not happen rather than a genuine roadmap for growth. Advancement tends to favor those with the right relationships rather than those with the strongest performance, leaving many employees feeling overlooked regardless of their contributions. Promotions, when they do occur, are not necessarily accompanied by a salary adjustment — a title change without any corresponding compensation increase is not an uncommon outcome.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Cohesion within individual teams is generally reasonable, with colleagues tending to support one another on a day-to-day basis. However, collaboration across teams is limited, with a notable silo mentality that prevents effective cross-functional work. At the management level, the dynamic is more concerning — managers frequently take on more work than is realistically deliverable, delegate the actual execution to their teams, and yet consistently keep team members invisible to the wider organization. Credit and accountability are both absorbed at the management level, leaving employees with little recognition or exposure regardless of their contributions.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Upper management frequently emphasizes transparency as a core value, however this is rarely reflected in practice. Company-wide Q&A sessions are held periodically, but these tend to feel staged rather than genuinely open. Critical or uncomfortable topics that are raised are typically met with denial rather than acknowledgment, which further erodes trust. There is a noticeable disconnect between the values leadership communicates and the behavior that is actually demonstrated, making it difficult to feel that concerns are heard or taken seriously.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Working conditions leave considerable room for improvement. Remote and contract workers are provided with specially structured contracts that appear designed to circumvent the company's obligation to provide a proper home office setup, leaving employees to cover these costs themselves. The office environment presents its own challenges — it is frequently near-empty, yet on days when attendance is required, it becomes uncomfortably loud and difficult to work in productively. There is little middle ground, and the overall setup feels like it prioritizes cost-saving over employee comfort and effectiveness.

Kommunikation

Communication within the organization is selective at best and damaging at worst. Important strategic decisions are made behind closed doors, and direction can shift on a daily basis with little to no explanation to those affected. A particularly troubling example was a company-wide meeting in which employees were informed that layoffs would be taking place, but without indication of who would be affected — leaving a significant portion of the workforce in prolonged uncertainty about their own job security. This kind of approach is emblematic of a broader pattern where information is withheld or delivered poorly, all while leadership continues to use the word 'transparency' as a descriptor for their communication style.

Gehalt/Benefits

Salaries in at least some departments are noticeably below market average, and there is no bonus structure in place for everyone. Securing a raise is an uphill battle, and the process lacks transparency. There are compensation practices here that I have direct, firsthand knowledge of and find demoralizing, but which I've been advised not to describe in specific terms following prior moderation challenges to this review. I'll simply note that pay equity between new and long-tenured employees in comparable roles is an area I'd encourage prospective employees to ask about directly. Rather than addressing compensation openly, there appears to be an active discouragement of salary discussions among colleagues. Overall, the approach to pay feels neither fair nor competitive.

Gleichberechtigung

0 or negative stars would be most appropriate here. Equal treatment is an area of significant concern. In my personal experience, I have felt that not all voices are given equal weight within the organization, though I have been advised that I cannot state the specifics of what I observed without risk of challenge from the company. I would encourage anyone reading this to draw their own conclusions from the overall picture this review paints. While diversity is likely represented in company materials and messaging, the lived experience of many employees suggests that genuine inclusion and equal opportunity are not yet a reality within the organization.

Interessante Aufgaben

Under previous management, the work was genuinely engaging with real opportunities to explore new ideas and take on varied, meaningful projects. Unfortunately, this has changed significantly. I have direct knowledge of specific decisions regarding how project work was allocated that I believe would be of interest to potential employees, however the company has challenged this review and I am unable to include those details without risk of further suppression. This pattern has made it difficult to feel that the work being done has any real value or impact, and has been a significant source of demotivation for many employees.

Mehrfachbewertung

The employees, events and the team. Great people, and one of the highlights when in the office, is to hang out with collegues.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

The consistent change of direction cause anxiety and uncertainty among the employees.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

Long-term and well-performing employees need to be valued more, not only in word, but also with compensation. People need to be heard more in general to build trust, and fix the root causes of problems.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

There has been a top down feeling recently, where drastic decisions are made among managers, impacting the whole company, which has had negative effects on many teams. This has resulted in lack of motivation and worsened atmosphere within the company.

Image

Used to be a promising start-up with great image, however due to the consistant change in management and direction, as well as many influential employees leaving, the trust and belief in the company has fallen dramatically.

Work-Life-Balance

Home-office and flexible working hours is possible. It is normally easy to get vacation, and one is not contacted by collegues or managers during the time off. However many also work a lot of extra hours without any compensation for it, and there is sometimes a feeling that extra hours are necessary to complete the required work.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

Online courses and trainings are offered. However promises of career paths were made and not followed up due to change in management. Now it is uncertain who has a future at the company.

Gehalt/Benefits

Alright salary, and some benefits, such as discounts and some money towards Deutschland Ticket. However kudos programs has been introduced, to improve the atmosphere, and reward those with the most kudos. However it has felt more like a popularity contest, and not based on real value provided, and in some context it has also felt a bit demoralising since e.g. people working in the office rather than home-office or in bigger teams have benefited more.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

The company is taking some actions with the environment in mind, such as a focus on vegan food during events, reducing waste, promoting train transport and so on.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

This is one of the main strenghts of the company, the collegial community is great, and it is easy to feel at home within the team and within the company.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

The company overall has younger employees, but older employees are treated fairly and are respected. However, long-term employees have not always been appreciated, with many long-term employees leaving recently due to the direction of the company or due to better offers and opportunities elsewhere.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

There has been consistent change of managers, where each manager has had their own ideas and direction. This has resulted in a lack of understanding what each team needs, what the bottlenecks are, and where the problem lies. Therefore, unrealistic goals have been set and promises have been made that could not be fulfilled.

Arbeitsbedingungen

The office is relatively modern with good facilities, A/C, well-lit areas and a recreational area/lunchroom. Drinks and snacks are also provided. However, the computers and some of the technology leave more to be desired.

Kommunikation

There are monthly meetings to brief the employees what is going on within the company, however the feeling is that a lot of the day to day communication is missing. Drastic changes are being made, and information is being shared afterwards, and it results in uncertainty.

Gleichberechtigung

There is generally equality within the company, although there are not many women in management positions.

Interessante Aufgaben

This largely comes down to the department, but many tasks are repetitive, projects have been shut down, and own initiatives are not as appreciated anymore.
