Verbesserungsvorschläge

After I applied, I received an email within a week and had a telephonic interview with the team head. The conversation was very friendly and he I was confirmed in the end of the conversation that the Frankfurt office will call me for Bewerbertag. I got an invitation from the Frankfurt office in the next 8 days. I went to the Bewerbertag on 18.06.2015 and there were 6 participants including with three different background. There was a very warm welcome and we were taken to a room where we spent time after interviews and where we did the case study problem as well. The participants were divided into two groups (3 each). The first group (I belonged to this one) had personal interview.

It was a very cool round and the interview lasted for 1 hour. The Human Resource Personal made me feel very easy and after 2 minutes I started enjoying being there absolutely. There were some typical questions (40% of the interview was in English and the rest in German, but the questions were constantly swapped):

From 10:00 - 11:00
1) What was the most challenging thing in my professional life and how did I handle the situation?
2) Why I did not apply in company xyz (another reputed organization) and what motivated to apply in PwC.
3) How would I react if a colleague of mine is presenting a wrong result to the customer and I am attending the presentation.
4) How would I react if I was asked by my boss to hold his presentation in thr last minute before the customer.
5) Expectations in the working place.

Brain Teasers:
1) Three containers each of 8l, 5l and 3l. The 8l is full with water. How can one proceed to leave one of the containers alone filled with 4l water.
2) Four people traveling in a car and there car has an accident. Three of them are seriously injured and one person (he is a surgeon) is safe with no injuries. There are two pairs of gloves. How can he come up with a strategy to operate three patients using the two pair of gloves.
3) How many times the small and the large hands of a clock cross each other in a day?
4) Why does a train with lot of compartments initially moves back before proceeding its motion?

If you smartyl answer the brain teasers, you get more questions. I answered all of them and I started getting questions one after the other. However, the time was up after the fourth question and I shook hands very confidently and positively and came out.

During the time we three had personal interviews, the other three candidates were busy with their case study problem.

From 11:10 - 12:10:

The case study problem was given to each of us and the problem can be either in English or German. One needs to answer the case study in the same langauge they receive the question.

Case study Question: Please go through this link. This will help people to think in a broad way.

However, the case study problem in my case was related to handling and managing the data efficiently.

We were given charts, pen, notepad and sketches.

Tip: Please represent the problem figuratively using flowcharts, pie diagram, etc (different color) and itemize the points in a readable way.

The charts, case study question were taken away to be asked later.

While we were having our case study session, the 2nd group had their interview from the respective departments (Fachinterview)

12:20 - 12:50 there was a presentation on the insights in business consulting. All the candidates were there and they asked different questions. It was quite an interactive knowledge share discussion rather than a mere presentation. Of course, apart from the chief of one the departments, a human resource personal was also present and he observes how the candidates interact.

12:50 - 13:30:
Lunch (a buffet was laid right before the room) and there were all the human resource people who interviewed along with the department people. This really gave us a chance to know each of them and what they are doing.

13:30 - 14:30 (Fachinterview):
Interview from the data analytics department by a manager. He was once again very friendly and made me feel easy. There was an introduction given about the department and there was subject related questions relating to my resume. There were questions related to programming languages. All these took place in German. In the last 15 minutes, I was told to unwrap the chart I prepared for my case study problem and I was told to present the problem in English. I did that and there was a very cool and positive interaction. The manager gave a very positive smile.

During the time the 1st group had interview, the 2nd group had a 1 hour break. So, after the department interview the 1st group had a break from 14:40 - 15:40. The 2nd group had their Personal Interview during this time.

15:45 - 17:00:
All you can ask round: There was a consultant who had completed almost 2 years in PwC. So, one can ask anything they feel like related to PwC, his working style, projects etc etc...

17:00 - 17:30:
Feedback: They tell you the result during this time to prepare the employment contracts. One single day worth spending here since you get the result on the same day evening!

The contract was there in the postbox in the next couple of days.

Cool, I have never seen such a quick processing system. They are very professional and friendly.
