Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Ironically, the greatest benefit this company gave me was the motivation to find a workplace that truly values its people. Leaving was the best decision I made for my career, my professional growth, and my well-being.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Micromanagement, top-down leadership, a culture driven by KPIs rather than people, lack of appreciation, rigid shift scheduling, high employee turnover, and a significant disconnect between the company’s external branding and the day-to-day employee experience.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

Trust your employees instead of managing through constant control. Empower Team Leads to actually lead rather than simply relay decisions from upper management. Listen to employee feedback, reduce micromanagement, and build a culture where appreciation, development, and trust are more than just marketing slogans.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

The work atmosphere has deteriorated significantly over the years. The focus is almost entirely on KPIs, monitoring, and performance metrics rather than trust, motivation, or employee appreciation. The pressure is constant, and recognition is rare.

Image

The external image is significantly stronger than the internal reality I experienced. There is a noticeable gap between employer branding and the actual employee experience.

Work-Life-Balance

The introduction of rigid shift schedules significantly reduced flexibility. While the company promotes itself as modern and flexible, my experience—at least within Customer Success—was very different.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

Career development is limited. The focus was on short-term performance rather than investing in employees’ long-term growth and development.

Gehalt/Benefits

Compensation and benefits are average. However, they do not make up for the lack of appreciation, limited trust, and the high-pressure work environment.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

The company communicates a lot about its values, but I saw little evidence of these values being reflected in the day-to-day employee experience.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

The colleagues were the best part of the job. Many talented and supportive people worked hard despite the environment. Unfortunately, the company culture did little to encourage genuine collaboration.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

I cannot fairly evaluate this based on my personal experience.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Leadership felt highly hierarchical. Team Leads often appeared to have little autonomy and mainly acted as messengers for upper management rather than leaders empowered to support and develop their teams. One-on-one meetings frequently felt like performance reviews rather than meaningful coaching sessions.

Arbeitsbedingungen

The company promotes modern working conditions, but the reality felt much more rigid. Processes, monitoring, and control often outweighed flexibility and employee trust.

Kommunikation

Communication is primarily top-down. Employee feedback rarely seems to influence decisions, and major changes are often presented as final rather than discussed openly.

Interessante Aufgaben

The role was interesting at first, but over time the focus shifted almost entirely to meeting KPIs. Opportunities for creativity, ownership, and professional growth became increasingly limited

Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Great office.
Generally we have a great product.
Nice collegues.
The company is growing.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

I think Scalable is still a decent place to work (depending on your position). Unfortunately it was a great place to work, and things don't seem to be heading in the right direction.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

The company understands the importance of client success. But what the company does not understand well enough, is the difference between mere process adherence, and truly high service quality.
We say we want to expand internationally, but lack the required resources. We don't understand our competitive advantages and disadvantages in different markets well enough. And in turn, we are not growing as fast as I know we can. I think the company is making the same mistake many German companies have made in the past; to assume that what works in Germany, will also work across borders.
As already mentioned, there is too much micro-management, and too much bureaucracy. We are forgetting that ''happy employees perform well''. Instead of optimising for wellbeing, things have become more restrictive over the past 6-12 months.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

My Team is really amazing! But the vibe has changed a lot over the last 6-12 months, in the sense that it does not seem a priority for management to make working conditions better for us. In fact, it has gotten worse.

Image

I think we have a good marketing team, and our image is solid.

Work-Life-Balance

We have a good home office policy. More flexibility in terms of working ours is coming.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

Given the fact that the organisation is very flat, the opportunities are limited. The company also lacks a clear promotion-structure. And like in many companies, promotions seems to depend more on visibility/self promotion, than actually excelling at your work. It seems to be more beneficial to help other teams, or pick up a side project that might have little impact (but allows you to generate visibility), than to excell at your core job (what you were hired for in the first place). There is also no performance based pay. No compensation for milestones.

Gehalt/Benefits

I think I'm compensated pretty fairly. I don't have (or had) any share-based compensation, which I think is not good practice for a company that was a scale-up when I joined.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

I'm not aware the company is actively pursuing anything in this regard, but I could be wrong. I know we are supporting a local female football team.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Again, within my team, it's great. Inter-team communication can be improved. The level of 'ownership' needs to be improved. There is too much of a 'I do my job, you do yours' mentality. Teams care too little about how their work impacts other teams. There is too much micro-management. Not enough common sense. And constructive criticism is not always well received.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

I don't have much experience, we don't have many older colleagues, but the collaboration seems to be fine.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

It really depends if this is referring to the team lead, or upper management. About my team lead I have no complaints. Higher management just makes decisions top down, and does not seem to be bothered much how we feel about it. At the very least, they could do a better job managing expectations.

Arbeitsbedingungen

The office is really nice, so no complaints here.

Kommunikation

Again, within my team, things are great. But when it comes to top-down communication, the is a lack of openness, and genuineness. Management basically makes their own decisions, while it feels like we are only ''consulted'' as a formality, not because they actually listen.

Gleichberechtigung

Hard for me to really comment something useful here.

Interessante Aufgaben

The job is interesting, though becoming a bit repetitive. The company constantly launches new features, so that definitely keeps things interesting.

During my probation period, I informed the company that I was facing a serious medical situation that was still being clarified. At that point, I did not yet have a final diagnosis or a full understanding of what was happening medically, but it was already clear that the situation could be serious and might require a longer period of absence and recovery.

Shortly afterwards, while I was on sick leave, I received my termination by email.

I understand that a termination during the probation period can be legally possible. I also understand that companies have to make difficult decisions. However, the timing and the way the situation was handled felt deeply impersonal, especially considering the circumstances.

After I had communicated the seriousness and uncertainty of my medical situation, there was no further conversation about it. No call, no personal exchange, no attempt to speak to me directly. The employment relationship was simply ended by email while I was officially on sick leave.

I cannot judge the internal reasoning behind the decision. I can only describe how it was experienced from my side. Before I even knew what exactly was happening to me health wise, and while I was dealing with a genuinely frightening and uncertain situation, the company chose to end the employment relationship in the most impersonal way possible.

What stayed with me most was the contrast between the company’s public messaging around culture, community, and care, and my own experience in a genuinely difficult moment. For me, this was a situation where company values were not tested in theory, but in practice.

Unfortunately, my experience left me with the impression that those stated values did not extend very far once an employee became vulnerable, uncertain, or temporarily unavailable.

One of the Most Demotivating Work Environments I’ve Experienced

2,7
Nicht empfohlen
Ex-Angestellte/r oder Arbeiter/inHat bis 2026 für dieses Unternehmen in München gearbeitet.

Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

A few colleagues who were professional, supportive, and enjoyable to work with.

Looking back, I am personally very relieved to have left the company. Unfortunately, this was overall the most negative professional experience of my career so far.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

What I found especially challenging:
•strong micromanagement,
•very rigid and demanding shift scheduling
•high pressure combined with low appreciation
•limited transparency regarding contract extensions and career development,
•inconsistent leadership and weak management within the team,
•a heavy focus on metrics rather than sustainable employee development

Over time, the general atmosphere in the office felt increasingly demotivating. Many employees appeared exhausted, while constructive feedback and improvement suggestions seemed to receive limited consideration.
Especially for candidates considering a role in CS, I would strongly recommend asking detailed questions in advance about leadership style, workload expectations, and long-term career perspectives.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

I joined the company with a great deal of motivation and genuine enthusiasm. Unfortunately, my experience deteriorated significantly over time.

Particularly within the CS department, I experienced the work environment as consistently tense and unsustainable. Turnover appears to be high, processes are often short-term and poorly coordinated, and there is, in my opinion, a lack of clear communication and reliable long-term perspective for employees.

Really Bad

1,7

Ex-Angestellte/r oder Arbeiter/inHat bis 2026 für dieses Unternehmen in München gearbeitet.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Working conditions in Customer Success are extremely inflexible. Planning is often done last minute and feels inefficient and poorly structured. Participation in meetings is rarely accommodated during working hours; instead, employees are expected to review recordings after hours, even when important updates are shared.

There is also very little time allocated for internal communication and team exchange. Teams are chronically understaffed, yet there seems to be little effort to retain high-performing employees. Avoiding permanent contracts appears to be a higher priority, which results in most employees leaving after around two years.

Salary increases are minimal and often do not even keep up with inflation, even during strong business periods. Time for development and salary discussions has been significantly reduced, and within two years, no clear career progression was offered. The focus is almost exclusively on case numbers and micromanagement.

Performance is heavily monitored, and even minor drops—such as when someone is unwell—are quickly addressed, despite consistent performance over months. Overall, expectations are very high (including overtime), while support, flexibility, and recognition are lacking.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

The work environment places little value on work-life balance. There is vno flexibility in working hours, and employees are expected to prioritize work over their personal lives. Even break times are not self-determined, which contributes to a rather rigid and restrictive atmosphere.

Gehalt/Benefits

Pay is weak considering the performance expectations. The most telling sign: when raises were discussed, the company offered more money in exchange for vacation days. In all my career, i have Never heard something like that

Interessante Aufgaben

The work is largely repetitive and monotonous. Tasks are very similar day-to-day, offering little variety or opportunity to engage in more interesting or diverse activities.

Dear colleague,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience so openly. We’re sorry to hear that the atmosphere has felt different for you since December 2025, and that recent discussions and adjustments around flexible work have created uncertainty and pressure.

We understand how important flexibility is—especially when it comes to flexible home office options and working from abroad. That’s why we’d like to clarify that our hybrid working model remains in place, and that working from abroad will continue to be part of our flexible work offering.

At the same time, we take your feedback on communication and change management seriously. Even when updates to policies are necessary, it’s crucial that we communicate the “why” transparently and make space for questions and concerns—so that changes don’t negatively impact trust and team culture.

Thank you as well for highlighting the positive aspects, like the supportive colleagues and competitive compensation in CS.
We want to thank you once again for your review and we wish you all the best.

Kind regards
