Strong culture of transparency and respect throughout the org. Excellent support during COVID-19. State of the art tools and equipment.
Too many meetings. Sometimes the workload is just too high. No compensation for overtime.
Listen to your employees on the team level. If a team is understaffed reduce work load or hire more people.
You can expect to find a respectful and a supportive work environment. This depends on the team you work with and your manager of course.
Scout24 and especially ImmoScout24 do not have the best image in the mind of the general public.
There is no time keeping and no formal way to account for overtime. In theory you are completely free to work on your own time. As long as the work is done you should be fine. On the other hand the work load often times is just immense and some areas of the company are vastly understaffed. This means that a lot of employees work long hours with little or no compensation for that.
From what I can observe you will be never formally asked to put in a few extra hours. But you will have to manage your work-life-balance actively and communicate to your manager when you are over packed with tasks and projects.
Nothing out of the ordinary. There is budget for learning and acquiring new skills. But flat hierarchies mean limited potential for the advancement of your career. To be promoted you should also be comfortable to engage in self marketing. Head a few projects that make a difference. Get to know key people in upper management. Be a vocal proponent of change. In short: To advance at Scout24 you should be comfortable to go the extra mile.
Scout aims to always stay in the top 25 per cent of salaries for any given position. You will also be given the opportunity to apply for a favourable company pension plan. Sometimes you will have the option to buy subsidised company stock.
Lots of progress here: Climate Strategy with clear goals towards carbon neutrality is in place. Scout24 is an almost paper free office environment.
Co Workers are great. I have yet to encounter someone I genuinely don't like. And I've been here for a while now.
Most Scouts appear to be between 25 and 45. But I do not think that older colleagues are in any way disrespected.
From my experience, your managers will be eager to assist and support you. They will also expect only the best. Your mileage may vary, of course.
Top notch state of the art tech and equipment in any way possible. You'll a Windows laptop or a MacBook, depending on your preference. Nose cancelling headphones are also part of the package. The new office at Berlin Central Station is as modern and comprehensively equipped as one would expect from a tech company in 2021.
Expect lots and lots of meetings. Scout24 is a very complex organisation. A few other teams are almost always involved in your daily business. This facilitates a need for a tremendous amount of communication within the org. There are initiatives to reduce the amount of meetings, tough. Communication overall is o.k. If you can process all the info available, you will be very well informed of what goes on at Scout24.
As far as I can tell, Scout24 takes Diversity and Inclusion very seriously. There is an initiative to hire more women, especially in IT and development.
During COVID-19 parents had the option to reduce their working hours for up to 50 per cent without any loss of pay.
There is a lot that is happening at Scout24. There is always a project you can join or start yourself. But you will be responsible to find these extraordinary tasks and the time to work on them.
