I love a challenge and I love solving problems. I love to help and I love seeing people succeed in their work. I love teamwork and learning new skills. In the chaos there I helped create a better environment for the production staff, learned so much about cell technology and factory work. But I guess I would have loved that in any other company as well.
The infighting, mad and inconsistent management decisions, kicking people out party for no reason and keeping others who act against the company just because they have vitamin C…
The space here is not enough for that.
But I guess the most important thing would be to stop selecting and protecting the people you like, and start helping those who love their job . The friends with benefits issue got well out of hand between two people in pretty important positions and the female even threatened another colleague in front of everyone and the male part covered her.
Infighting, incompetent leadership, many young people with very little experience in positions of authority. The people who were in charge of selecting the machinery for the new facility did not listen to the production staff and ordered partly the same equipment as in GRD , that caused endless suffering and problems for the company and the workers. Catastrophe.
They call it startup but they exist for over 15 years and get hundreds of millions from the government and other agencies
Work what?
I had zero. I didn’t even get any onboarding, which was badly needed in my position.
For eastern Germany I was happy with the money.
The image is totally fake.
That’s a difficult one. People in production did support each other more or less. It’s a difficult environment.
Can’t say, hardly anyone old there.
I better not comment. I was kept in the dark about the real goals of factory management. Gave them what I found but they weren’t interested in the truth. They had a plan and even though I should have known, they only shared it with me in the very last moment.
What’s been said today is worthless tomorrow. Goals are changed constantly and at least in my position I was not told the truth about certain aspects which I should have known to act according to the goals of management - which where not of the best interests to the company. Yeah, let that sink in.

I loved my job. I gained much respect in the production teams, I produced top results for the chaos this company is in and still…
Interesting technology, smart and friendly colleagues.
Shockingly high employee turnover, largely incompetent management, unprofessional practices, and daily chaos.
Stop making fake reviews on Kununu to pump up the rating. Do not reward employees for leaving good reviews as done in the past.
The atmosphere created by management is tense, fear-based, and lacking clear direction. Colleagues support each other the best they can, despite this.
The turnover-rate is tremendous and leads to so many headaches, as there are unfinished projects everywhere you look, from the unending stream of past colleagues who have left the company. This leads to an extremely chaotic atmosphere. Check the job posting board for Skeleton - they are regularly looking for a new Plant Manager, Production Manager, Head of Quality - nobody stays. The closer the position is to upper management, the shorter the tenure at the company will be. That should tell you something.
The exterior image of the company couldn't be more different than the internal reality. The marketing team for Skeleton is extremely slick and does a great job, making the company look much more serious and established than it is. Colleagues talk very poorly about Skeleton, the overwhelming majority lowkey hates the company.
It's a lot of work, since the factory just recently opened, but that's to be expected with a new facility.
Due to the chaos, you can actually learn a lot here in a relatively short period of time.
The salaries are good. Everyone in Germany starts with 26 or 27 days holiday (I forget which one) in order to be even with the colleagues in Estonia.
Skeleton presents a very "green" image, but in everyday operations it's a different story. Toxic chemicals thrown in the regular trash because Skeleton never paid the company which used to pick them up (fits a broader pattern of delayed or disputed payments to Skeleton's suppliers and contractors, with payments only fulfilled after significant pressure). When the factory used to be located close to Dresden, I was told that toxic chemicals were rinsed into public wastewater.
The colleagues on the lower levels at Skeleton were among the best I ever had, true professionals and truly great people.
There are no older colleagues. I don't think older people would put up with the nonsense here.
Personal fealty to top management is valued the most. Some incompetent colleagues survived for years because top management liked them and/or were too technically deficient to see how incompetent they were. On the other hand, serious professionals who were very good at their job were scared away by the immaturity of management.
In general, employees are treated very poorly by management. Providing feedback on an upper management idea or decision is a no-go here.
There is also a distinct lack of industrial operational experience in upper management - it's like a teenager got the keys to a Ferrari.
The office areas are great, big windows and nice desks. The factory itself, however, is an accident waiting to happen. In the time I was there I witnessed a falling knife from an upper level, a shower of sparks from a short-circuited capacitor, a large steel structure almost tipping over when a forklift ran into it (I was told that all steel superstructures in the factory are very shallowly anchored due to the nature of the ground and the building foundation, the building was intended as a warehouse when it was first built, and not a factory. Dangerous situation).
Safety training and practices are almost nonexistent, and wouldn't help much anyways due to the chaotic nature of the factory. People get used to it, but it's certainly not safe.
Communication is like in a poorly-run medieval kingdom - decisions from on-high are arbitrary, strategic and operational direction comes and goes like the wind.
There is a monthly company meeting in which all employees are informed of the latest company news, but the relatively ugly reality is certainly glossed-over.
While I was there, the small office in Berlin was closed and the colleagues there were told they needed to be on-site in Leipzig within two weeks or would lose their jobs - pretty standard fare for Skeleton.
Inside the factory, there were several women in higher positions, that was cool. In upper management there are no women.
The technology is interesting, so the tasks were always interesting as well, if chaotic. However, because of the chaos, there are many tasks that wouldn't even be necessary in the first place if the company was better-run and had less employee turnover. I can't emphasize enough how chaotic this makes the day-to-day.
The biggest drawback is communication within internal stakeholders.
Change the executive decision making process.
Focus on internal alignment and stability to keep motivation and personal development perspectives alive.
I felt the company is led autocratically by the CEO. Whoever disagreeing with their decisions was to be gone. That left a feeling of being at the mercy of arbitrary will. Ultimately, this behavior left a feeling of an unstable employment situation.
Was affected by office closing and faced with job relocation that involved over 2 hours commuting time each way. Options for remote work were cancelled and on-site presence was expected in order not to be extraordinarily terminated.
Often experienced that some colleagues did not get along well with each other in meetings (assuming due to shared past experiences).
Communication is done regularly (positive).
However, the communicated content mostly focused on the external perception of the company. I think for internal communication the focus should be on topics that relate to daily collaboration amongst the employees and solving internal bottlenecks. The breakdown and transfer of the company's vision and goals was unstructured and unguided. This resulted in OKRs and KPIs just to have them, but not to align internal actions that progress the internal collaboration.
The people are the biggest asset of Skeleton. They are knowledgable, hardworking and try their best to achieve their and theirs companys goal. In my 3 years working there I only met competent and nice people!
If it wasn't clear yet, how upper management treats their employees and makes decisions.
Upper management needs to improve their transparency and needs to listen to the individual people and their professional opinion before pushing big structural changes. It is poisoning the work ethic and leads to discontent and also a high turn over rate. Concealing issues and putting a positive spin on everything that happens doesn't help achieving the companys goal.
Within my team the working environment was actually very positive with open communication and good direct leadership. However, mood and motivation where sometimes negatively impacted by decision that were made by upper management. Lately, these kind of decisions have been increasing and motivation/engagement decreased by a lot. The reason why I was no longer able to stay and work their was that one of those decisions impacted me directly.
I think a lot or the workers still stand behind the goal of Skeleton to have a positive impact on the energy market. However, in the past year the discontent has been increasing due to upper management decision and motiviation has declined.
Personally, I would argue my work-life-balance was good. However, this is only the case if you advocate for it. From time to time I heard that other people are doing a lot of overtime and upper management generally encouraged it openly. So depending on your position, it could be an issue.
There is a chance to develop but only by doing your job. I have seen people changing teams and positions within the company to address their need for self development. But other opportunities for development are rare.
My starting salary and the once I heard from were good and always paid in time. But getting a raise in the past year was impossible.
I would say individually, yes! There are also initiatives that were started by individuals to push for more sustainabilty. But overall the company has other more urgent priorities.
Skeletons biggest asset are the people you will work with on a daily basis. They are all knowledgable and eager to succeed. And they will try their best to work with you. I didn't make any bad experiences appart from having smaller misunderstandings.
Skeleton is generally a young company with few older colleagues. But they and the value they bring are mostly respected and appreciated, at least from my personal experience.
First of all, my personal manager was awesome. He did a really good job of managing our team in a respectful and open manner. And I think that is true for most of the lower management. But if it comes to decision making and communication to the upper management, they tend to set unrealistic goals while also being intransparent.
The technical equipment and supplies were good - also the IT support along with it was always quick and helpful. The office I had worked in was also sufficiently equipped but sometimes it required multiple requests to get something that was required. Overall good enough!
Again, within my team and also to other pears communication was well if not always perfect due to the language barrier. But everyone was always willing to make it work. But the communication from upper management to the rest of the company was lacking transparency and honesty. For example, restructuring entire teams wasn't discussed with the affected teams beforehand but rather announced company wide without giving the individuals a heads up.
I think Skeleton is mostly a diverse and modern company with progressive values. But I think currently there is no female lead in the upper management - whatever the reason might be.
Personally, I always had intresting projects and never got bored. It is one of the biggest upside Skeleton has to offer if you want to develop your skillset and want to learn as much as you can.
Einige kloppen 12-Stunden-Schicht ohne jeglichen Sinn, andere 8 Stunden drei Schichten ohne bezahlter Pause.
HR Abteilung teils sehr unerfahren.
Solches Verhalten könnte man echt mal überdenken.
14h Arbeitstage fast jeden Tag
