Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Awesome flexibility when it comes to working hours and working remotely. This is a major plus.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

That it sometimes feels like as if all employees are lumped together in communications (as if no one really works here). And that the C-Level sometimes takes a harsh tone. There is a different way of motivating people. We no longer live in the 1960s.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

Stop parading former colleagues as scapegoats. And listen to people much more and talk less yourselves. Also and especially in workshops. It's time for all of us, not just you.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Has suffered a lot in recent years. The tone is sometimes scary, hence the atmosphere can be very tense.

Kommunikation

C-level communication is often strange, sometimes difficult to understand or follow and questionable from a psychological point of view. This communication is responsible for a lot of noise in the company. After e-mails or certain meetings, D-level and teamleads have to spend time catching up with their people and calming them down.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Micromanagement

Gleichberechtigung

Although the company claims otherwise, upper management is not diverse (4 white middle aged CIS men and one white middle aged CIS woman). The new leadership has primarily placed white middle-aged CIS men around them. Criticism from the staff was met with the reply that women had been interviewed, but that they "would rather work in Paris or New York and not in Leipzig" (The majority of the C-level does not live in Leipzig.) - No PoC in leading positions.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Almost all the coffee mugs with the old company values on them were disposed of, even though they were not broken. Just one example of inconsistent action when it comes to sustainability. (The mugs could have at least been donated.)

Nicole KupkeInternal Communication Specialist

Hello and thank you very much for your open words and constructive suggestions for improvement. It is great to hear that you appreciate our flexible working hours and remote working opportunities.
We are sorry to hear that you are currently not happy with the communication at Spread Group. We take your criticism very seriously and would like to directly address some points:
Transparent communication at eye-level is very important for us. Our Q&A formats and respective tools are one way to ensure that open questions can be answered by the C-Level. Additionally, we are working on new communication channels and formats to enable everyone to take part in the company-wide conversation. We are taking your feedback seriously and will continuously work on the improvement of our communication.

Regarding the diversity at Spread Group, we are hiring international people from all around the world for different roles and positions. At the moment we are working on our relocating process to create them more easily for our non EU – employees.

If you would like to share more thoughts or ideas, we would be happy to talk in person. Simply reach out to us and we are happy to organize it.

Kind regards from the People & Culture and Internal Communications Team
